Hori EX-SE Questions

I Saw that the Hori EX-SE and HRAP SA were on sale at Amazon.com for 89.99 a piece. I have a few questions regarding this stick

  1. Does it have quick disconects
  2. Is it easilly modable alltho semitsu parts are great
  3. Are hori sticks well built and durable
  1. Yes
  2. Yes, definitely. The Hori Real Arcade Pro EX-SE is very easy to mod.
  3. I’d say! They’re built very well. They’re solid.

Where are you seeing an EX-SA on Amazon.com for $89.99 though? I don’t see one at all!

You got me excited for a second by accidentally typing EX-SA instead of HRAP 3 SA!

  1. Yes

  2. Very easily modded with Japanese parts. AS for dual PCB mods, that might be another story.

  3. I’d say so. Yes.

He got you too with that, huh? I got excited for a second there.

Yeah! I wouldn’t have bought one of course (too poor at the moment! :xeye:) but I would’ve wanted to see it regardless!

Also, XYIENCE, if you’re planning on modding this stick to be used for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, get the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 SA. That one has a common ground PCB which you can easily dual mod. Dual modding the Hori Real Arcade Pro EX-SE is VERY hard in comparison.

thanks very much for the help. I dont worry too much about dual mods doh ima just buy 2 seperate sticks. Yes i did mean Hrap SA. I will edit that.

So for modding its just like the SE and TE, I just plug in the buttons and iam good too go? Can you also direct me towards the template thread for the EX. I used the search feature but i got nothing

one last question. Do the quick disconnects also work for sanwa parts. Just in case at any moment i want sanwa instead of semitsu

Yes.

does the EX-SE have a plastic film on the top panel when it is first un-boxed?

^ Nope

so i wasnt suppose to remove the plastic film that covers the arcade stick ? :<

it was already pealing off though :open_mouth:

Was it an obvious layer of plastic with air bubbles and such? If so, you’re ok. I’ve seen some pics of EX-SEs with the film. Most of them now don’t.

My EX-SE didnt come with a plastic film layer either.

i wouldnt say it was obvious, but after a week or so the top layer started peeling on the bottom left so i figured it was meant to come off. now the metal plate has like a chalkboard type finish instead of a sorta plastic/mirror finish
