maybe its because xbox does not have hdmi
Mine does! That’s kinda weird.
Crap, older models don’t. Super. UPDATING.
what hell are you talkin about man?
no xbox has hdmi
Mine literally came with an HDMI cable and instructions.
THATS A FUCKING XBOX 360!!!
let me stop before I get an infraction
we are talking original xbox you know the big ass black one
Oh shit! I haven’t had someone refer to X-Box1 as an X-Box since 2005.
Chill out though, you realize you’re getting all worked up over a silly little mistake?
I’m not worked up but you make comments without READING please just read please
Now that the misunderstanding is clear (yes it was totally my fault please don’t eat me) can this be done with a stock X-Box1?
I’m sorry, I really am. I read and re-read everything like 2-3 times it was just an oversight because I didn’t think anyone gave a crap about X-Box1.
It’s totally reliant upon the game. All you can do is buy some nice component cables for it and let the game do the rest. To know which non-current-gen games run in high definition go here (listings for any HD capable system, but you can filter for XBOX, PS2, whatever):

xbox is great for emulators and such so its pretty useful
I’m really not understand what your trying to do with thread. Is this thread for your personal information or are you attempting to put out valid information to others? the comment "I didn’t think anyone gave a crap about xbox "
makes it seem your just trying to get the info you want
It’s for everyone. Believe it or not, around my neighborhood I’m the closest thing to an expert we have and I’ve been meaning to write something like this up.
And honestly I really didn’t think anyone cared about X-Box1. Most people I’ve spoken to call the 360 “X-box”. The fact that it emulates old stuff is ALSO new information.
you have to understand why I may be harsh with my words this is the third thread, that I have took the time to explain this process to you first in my SLG thread then in multiple questions in private convo and now here.
You going to have to bite the bullet and purchase this stuff then maybe you will understand the process.
It emulates stuff only with modding… the rabbit hole goes VERY deep here Smashbro lol…
What would be freaking awesome is if there were a web app where you could select all the game systems you have, what sort of inputs your display has and it would generate a graphic of how to hook it all up (basically calculate how many switch boxes, which type of switch boxes, how many of which cable type, etc.). Would be helpful for newbs as well as a good starting place for even knowledgeable folks who want to get a visual on what sort of setup they might be going for.

Yes yes. I understand that. I will order the parts soon. It’s really just that I need to make sure everything is supported so I don’t waste tons of money on unnecessary cables.
The guide is just something I thought would be cool to have for everyone.
I’ve boiled it down to the scart method or the RGB to component idea. I just wish someone would give me the advantages/disadvantages. I understand it all now due to all the patience.
You mentioned your TV has trouble with 240p games, try hooking up a console like a PS2 to your TV through component with a 240p game and see if that doesn’t work. If so, the RGB to component method won’t work for you.
The big difference is that the scaler will, well, scale your video, and that setup might look better/lag less than plugging the same video into your TV without scaling it. It depends on your TV though, and even then it’s subjective (well, lag isn’t subjective, but the scaler’s video may look better to some people and worse to others).
you said before that you cant play certain ps2 games on your screen = scart+scaler
you dont have s- video on your tv so = scart+scaler
PS2 xbox and gamecube are the only systems that uses component and sense you dont have s-video everything else =scart+scaler
advantages/disadvantages whatever
So in the end the best method is the SCART switcher for the SNES/GEN era stuff into a scaler (which makes it plug in as VGA)?
I get the idea, what is needed, what goes into what.
you do understand what a scaler does right?
do you also under stand why a scart cable it needed?
I’m a little fuzzy on the specifics but basically it improves/resizes the picture.
SCART is necessary to get the best picture out of the machine in the first place.
