Went to both GameMAX in Causeway Bay and Game zone in Mong Kok and Game zone is definitely much better in terms of competition. Too bad I’m leaving on Monday
I was the Yun/Yang player in game zone on Wednesday. GGs to that Yun player who was beating my ass until I had to leave haha.
I just moved to Kwai Fong recently, anybody know if there are still arcades in the area? Also, I work in Wan Chai so I go down to Game City on Marsh Street frequently after work, after 6PM. If anybody wants to meet up and play, shoot me a text at 9317 4948, cuz I don’t pick up numbers I don’t know haha. Anyways, that place has 4 AE cabs at HK$4 per game.
Hey guys, Hong Kong players use their own website… www.hkfighter.com
You can check out strategy and info there… most of it is in Chinese, but i’m aware that there are some English speakers on the forum…
As for the competition, i’m not too sure anymore as i have been away for about a year… but it used to be the basement arcades in CWB, CWB/Wanchai off the main road and MongKok for the best players…
I will be in Hong Kong on a biz trip in September… Know nothing about Hong Kong and still dont know where my hotel is at. I do know that I will be near a financial district…
good lookin out man. I have 4 days there… daytime is a corporate seminar I have to go to… then there is only one night where I need to be at the company eat and drink (cause there is alcohol ) so i need to hit that up. looks like I will have about 10 hours or so to hit up the arcades im my short stay there.
any cool night clubs/bars that are foreign friendly? I live in Tokyo so the nightlife here is pretty kick ass… does HK have a good nightlife too?
yeah definitely, there’s Lan Kwai Fong, which is very expat/foreigner friendly, and its in Central, so it should be hella convenient for you to get there from your hotel
Hey guys I’m going to be in Hong Kong in the Kowloon area for the next like 12 days. Closest arcade with SF4 and decent competition? Sorry I haven’t read through much of the thread, posting in a hurry since I’m boarding my flight soon.
hi guys, i’m headed to hong kong on 7 - 14 aug, and would love to know where are the good places to play tekken or soul calibur, or even anybody who’s interested to play some mvc3. any comments will be much appreciated; thank you!
My favorite arcades are Game Plaza (Mong Kok MTR exit D, in the New Town Mall), and there’s one next to the Golden Computer Center in Lai Chi Kok as well. I don’t know about the ones in Causeway Bay besides the Namco Funland. If you guys are interested please send me a pm – I’ll hook you up with my cell number so we can meet up and play some games!
wow this thread just exploded, yeah if anybody wants to play, hit me up via text/whatsapp - 9317 4948. i work on the hong kong side and live on the kowloon side so i can be down for games anywhere
Is that the place called Smart something? I passed by that area a bunch on my way to buy Sanwa parts from Terence Tam’s store recently. I’d be up for some street fighter in mong kok maybe Friday or sometime next week?
I dropped by Game Zone in the New Town Mall from about 3-4:30 today, played a few matches but ultimately didn’t find a lot of competition there. Probably has to do with the day/time that I went. Not sure when I will be back.
Also, the fish shooting game. HOW DOES IT WORK!?!?
LOL the fish game. but back to sf, yeah you have to go later at night when the people who actually play get off of work and stuff, so around 6-7 is when the competition rolls in
I remember when I was in Hong Kong, I put 20 into one of the coin machines and got 40 coins and was like “What the fuck?” Then I was told the coins only work for that stupid fish game.
You put as many coins in the machine and you can change the strength of your net depending on how many coins you have in. Of course you need a bigger net to catch the larger fish. Everytime you catch fish, you get coins back. I have no idea what the point of the game is though lmao.
sup so i’ve been living in HK for about seven months now but I haven’t actually met anyone from SRK to play SF.
I assume if you guys want to play AE you do it at each other’s houses? Is there a group that gets together to play it or anything?
I’m tired of just playing vanilla in Causeway Bay!
