“if i win im sick, if i lose its because i play ________(insert low tier character here)”

american crybaby street fighter mentality.

what the fuck are you talking about?

sorry i stopped responding to you a long time ago. it was addressing the mentality of the majority of american street fighter players. sorry if it was hard to figure out.

in your own words “one of the top players of american 3rd strike” says parry is random and chun li + guess parrying is easy and lame and you have nothing to say about it?

You just dismissed Renic’s post by saying Ricky just outplayed everyone and his character choice was irrelevant. Holy shit dude, seriously? Then you ignore the Ricky-O interview which he clearly states that he hates 3S while putting up interesting reasons for it. You know, reasons you wanted to hear according to your OP. Your past few posts just come off as elitist and batshit insane, and now you’re just pulling out strawmen because you’re annoyed.

I think you’re just biting off more than you can chew, coming off as a premier 3s representative who can help clear “misconceptions” about the game when in reality you’re just a 3s zealot and a chun-li apologist who can’t stand people who are just seeing the game and discussing it as what it is: another fighting game.

i smell cinamon rolls

interesting reasons? lol get the fuck out of here. i can take a guess and get my ultra off for 50% life too. or what about my random A groove activation into 80% life of your character. his reasons are he doesnt like parry. not because of Chun-li. whats this thread called?

people like you, louiscipher, good game player are the reason a lot of players dont post at all on srk. you guys watch some interviews, play a lil games, watch youtube and all of a sudden you think you know everything about 3rd strike.

fruityryu has beaten daigo in a 3s tournament

just sayin~

ryan, do you think that character advantage ever plays a role in determining who wins a high level match?

No offense to fruitryu, because I’ve played him and he definitely knows the game, but Daigo was about as rusty as in that match against Valle. Also, Ryan, fruitryu and louiscipher couldn’t be farther apart.

You entirely missed the point, Ricky’s main example as to why he didn’t like parrying uses Chun-Li, you either skipped this part or decided to ignore it, while I’m pretty sure Good Game Player was referring to this. Is this really not worth your attention?

Still not addressed.

Also, their team was named… “We Don’t Play This Game” or something to the effect…

its not like ricky never played this game. to think that is just stupid.

i hate to be a dick and i hate to be blunt. but really ty…if i played you with a lower tier character than you, would you beat me? do i win with chun cuz chuns better or because im a better player?

sorry

he was put on the spot and the first example he could think of was chun. would he really complain about chun seeing as hes a chun player? youre fucking stupid. he could say the same thing for any character. “one random guess parry and a down fierce from urien is fucking stupid” you dont think hes thought this in his mind when playing emphy? they played all the time you know. gtfo. youre a fucking nobody, you dont know shit.

3S is definitely a game of skill, but it’s also definitely a game of tiers, as the higher tiers have more possibilities and it’s as simple as that really. It’s like someone being born rich and the other being born poor, both people want to be successful but the rich person has the most possibilities open to him. That doesn’t mean the poor guy can’t get rich, just means it will take more work.

What else is there to say really. I don’t understand the basis for this discussion, I’m sure everyone knows this about the game, everyone knows the tiers do matter. The thing is the game is very skill dependant so they don’t really care that it’s a bit broken. ChunLi is spoilt though.

For what it’s worth: I think you’re playing the player with Chun. I think Yun is better in a lot of ways. I’ll put it like this; I’m fighting an average player who knows the basics and a maybe a little extra. If that dude picks Yun I don’t know if I could consistently beat him. Genei Jin is just a power made of pure rape. You try to guess against the Genei Jin and you guess wrong you will get violated. Dive 123 is gdlk. You have to parry the Dive or the followup after to get him. If not, then he cancels into Genei Jin again.

If they pick Chun I know I can win. Maybe not streaking the dude, but I know I can consistently win. It takes a while for her to build that meter, she can play runaway but there’s ways to counter pretty much everything she could do. If they play runaway and do bHP and crMK into Super all day, I’m going to destroy them. I know it.

I’m not saying I’m gdlk and I don’t want to give that impression, but I know that matchup and I know how to play it. Will I ever fight a Chun on par with MOV or Ricky in his prime? Probably not. But I think this all boils down to playing the player.

A dude on page 4 or so said that on 3SO you won’t be seeing a lot of Chuns. Her playstyle doesn’t suite a lot of people. And for the most part she’s not easy mode. Instead you’ll see a lot of mid-tier characters. And this guy is completely right. If you go on GGPO you’ll see a horde of Shoto players, and some Urien’s, Yun’s, Dudley’s, and Makoto’s. How many Chun’s have I fought? Maybe a dozen all together. How many of them were decent/good? Maybe 2.

He wasn’t put on the spot, he’s been saying the same thing for YEARS up here in NorCal. Yes he uses Chun, while realizing there’s an element of brain deadness about her style of play. Just like when he used to play v-sak in a3.

He doesn’t like the game and thinks the character is stupid, but that won’t stop him from playing to take all your tournament money. What is hard to understand or so unbelievable about that?
