Haha, are you serious.
I’m pretty sure that it “speaks about” Dhalsim, and the nature of that character. Jebus chris.

I hope SFIV Dash will have a smaller background…and nerf some of the escaping tools from Ryu/Akuma/Ken… I agree runaways are very annoying… and hopefully this will force the players to interact and make turtling less effective
what escaping tools of ken/ryu are you talking about? don’t tell me your complaining about air tatsu’s?
I got the impression that the rising air tatsu was exactly what people were complaining about.
Personally, I find Akuma’s teleport to be a much more annoying escape tool.
Yeah, no meaties or cross ups on wakeup lol.
Then again it’s so satisfying when you get a knockdown on Akuma, jump backwards and he teleports towards you for free damage. Makes them think twice about using that to escape all the time.
rising air tatsu isn’t exactly easy to control though which is why it baffles me how much people complain about it, it’s not like we can tk that shit like cammy/viper can tk their qcb air moves. so we basically have to jump up and immediatly go into the tatsu motion, on top of that we are vulnerable while we are in the air unlike akuma’s escape.
alternatively you can… you know, not go rushing at him on wake-up and slowly corner him then stay about 1/4 or more of the screen away to punish a attempt to teleport out… or if your playing the masterpiece you can cross-up then ex ground tatsu after the bastard to punish his escape attempt.
Yeah, that is why I’m surprised that people call it a great escape move…plus it can leave you pretty vulnerable to a handful of moves as you are landing.
Someone please inform the OP to change the title to are you a “turtle” instead of “waiter”
That’s been posted already.:wgrin:
They turtle because they sucks. Not because they have a strategy. We’re not talking about pro caliber player that turtle. But online scrubs who have absolutly no footsies game.
By footsies i don’t mean spamming thick throw or cross-up . ROFL i played against a cross-up happy zangief and i just dashed each time he tryed. He looked like a fool.
THan i simply destroyed the fool when i was tird to play with the big fool.
He send me a hate msg with something like
– Y3R strategy suckz .You’re ANNOYING!!! …
Than i replied… No i’m just making fun of you.
Pwn.
No I hate waiting. If you mean turtles.
I am ken, so I have to be aggressive. I like when people come at me with full force and combo’s. Instead of most akuma’s trying to stay away. Dhalsim matches are fun though.
If the opponent is playing smart and Bison does not have the lead, you have to rush. All of that stuff you mentioned is a result of the opponent making bad decisions with little knowledge of the match up(fireballing in a situation where EX Knee can punish) or the Bison player guessing correctly(EX HS against fireball). Of course, nobody has to rush when they have a lead.
Depends on the match up really.
I will never rush down a Gief or Honda with my Chun. I will just hope to get in small hits over a period of time and punish hard when he makes a blatant mistake.
When I’m playing as Ken it’s different. He’s a pretty cool guy and doesn’t afraid of anything.
Quoted for fucking TRUTH!
I wholeheartedly agree. I’ll turtle if it makes people make mistakes and lets me get the free win. I’m not playing to impress scrubs, I’m playing to play and compete with GOOD players. People kill me with that “turtling is gay” bullshit. Losing is worse, especially if theres money on the line. And I’m sure someone is gonna say something to the effect of, “Why play like that when theres nothing to lose?!” to which my answer would be, “So I’ll be ready when there is something to lose.” Not saying that anyone on here is a scrub or anything so get that idea out of your head. I’m just saying, like the quoted poster, that thinking turtling is “boring” so you won’t do it is a scrubby mentality to have.
i had this situation a couple of days ago against a blanka player, pretty much the whole match he didnt do anything he just sat there and waited for me to approach him (which i admit was a stupid thing to do, but fuck i hate boring matches) and i couldnt really expect to win by trying to chip his health to death with a yoga flame the whole time either.
i certainy have a harder time against these kinda players with sim as you cant afford to play aggressively very often (some might say at all)
that being said tho my sim game has improved dramatically since i started doing less and just waited for my opp to make a move first.
if the ryu player really wanted to (and was smart) hed probably just jump over the fireballs. thats one thing that isnt wise to do is to block or FA sims fireballs as it makes a follow up a lot easier due to being caught in blockstun or whatever.
take it from another ken, if you hate it when people turtle on you then your on the wrong character. very few characters have the toolset to where they are best served right within ken’s mix-up range, most characters are far better off keeping ken out.
if the ryu just neutral jumps all the fireballs couldn’t sim just smack him out of the air with s.rh?
I think players need Camping moves, like:
Blanka sits down and builds a fire and roasts a hotdog
Chunli will sit down and begin knitting something,
Gief would take out his little toy giefs and start playing by himself in the corner
Balrog (Buffalo) will start making that goofy laugh and drool as he stares off into space
Bison will take out the can of polish and a rag and start to polish his boots
C.Viper will start talking on the phone
Vega starts slicing petals off of a rose with his claw
Elfuerte makes a gourmet protein shake he learned from Blanka
Sagat kneels down, puts that thing on his head and starts praying Muay style
Honda sits down legs crossed and a geisha comes out to fix his hair and makeup
Ken takes out some photos of his pregnant wife and dreams away
Dhalsim lights up some inscence and sticks in the ground and starts doing yoga
Guile puts on his glasses, takes out a flask, lights up a cigar, and starts doing his hair up
Cammy starts looking through some secret documents
Abel sits down with a book and tries to write down things he can remember
Gouki gets bored and disappears into hell and back
Gouken stands on one leg, prays with one hand, and turns his prayer beads with the other
Sakura starts to make herself look pretty in a little hand mirror while talking to herself
Rose uses her psychic power to create little flowers or dolls while daydreams off into space
Gen takes out a stash of buns and starts eating them
Rufus dozes off to sleep
Feilong takes out a chair, puts on his glasses, and starts shouting directions at the film crew through a big voice cone
Dan takes off his jacket and starts to scrub out stubborn stains in it wearing a little white see-through tanktop
Ryu takes off and refolds his head band and ties it back on, and adjusts his outfit and reties his belt
and Seth tries to figure out how to play cards by himself
hmm possible but then again sim would have to be pretty darn close to ryu to pull that one off as the st.RH doesnt have a ton of range so itd be risky to cover that much ground as sim after throwing the fireball.
