@Sid: No real tournys in my area and I play friends offline all the time but don’t record. Appreciate your “input” however. Bai.

… Just letting you know, takehiko331 is Akimo … i have a few of his matches on my channel

… and there’s many more matches of him playing DeeJay, Blanka, Balrog, Dhalsim and Blanka.

I love the third round in the first vid when he just walks right up to dhalsim and then catches his jump back with jump mp. Akimo is my favorite Honda, I find he is just right mix of defense and offense in his matches.

okay lemme clarify… you start the match vs gootecks and you are walking back and forth like you are trying to space him out etc. then you walk up and jump at him, he easily antiairs you. you jab him a few times and then reckless jump at him again after he already showed you that he knows how to antiair properly. he “Luckily” does a soul spark, probably guessing that you wont jump anymore after he antiair’d you the first time, but of course, you jumped at him again. Now he probably guesses that you are gonna jump all day at him. so now he doesnt do anything. he just sits there…and you jump at him again. (he has you downloaded at this point) It has nothing to do with the matchup with rose. You just dont know how to walk forward for whatever reason. He spaces you out with a few normals and waits for you to jump again… which you do, but he screws up his antiair (probably because it is laggy). He screws up a few more antiairs, because again, its probably laggy and you continue to jump at him every chance you get. Why dont you just use ken and keep jumping in RH cr. RH. In fact whenever you are in a block string you could easily mash uppercut, cause thats exactly what it looks like. You want us to review a match of you playing online with a “pro” of you jumping in on him all day? There is my full “input.” In summary, you are playing like a scrub. Want some advice? stop jumping in all day, learn how to play footsies, and learn how to block and tech. hope that helps.

Damn Sid, sounds like something I would say.

:’’’) I feel like a proud papa right now lol…

ON that note, if u challenge characters with decent pokes, how do u get in? In particular, Sakura and chun seem to give me problems. Its too easy to punish a whiffed s hk or s hp. i find myself whiffing cr lp or s lp often but many times i’m just trying to predict catching one of their longer pokes (sak s hk or chun’s fp) but even then i dont understand what determines if my poke will beat theirs. some matchups you just can’t jump period so the footsies are just so important but sometimes it seems like anightmare getting in (sim, chun, guile). any help on what pokes u would use?

Will do

It is nearly impossible to get in on sim and guile without jumping. In those matches, it is also impossible to play footsies with them, their poke are way too good. You have to make them “guess” the right antiairs all day which is why the match is in their favor. For chun, you have to walk in on her all day and once in a while guess a jump. It shouldnt be predictable though and should be saved for when you get a good feel for their zoning habits. Try using cr fp (thank snk for the tip) and making sure you punish their jumpins/hasumshins w/ ultra. Blocking her fireballs is also a good habit to annoy her. Jumping or NJing them can lead into knockdowns. Sakura is pretty free, im not exactly sure what problems you are having with her. Which pokes are bothering you?

The sakura player in my region is incredibly good. s hk, s mk and s fp are the pokes she throws out the most. i have a hard time getting within range as she will stick one of those out to make sure i dont get closer. if i sit back and turtle she throws fireballs. i can get over a few of them maybe but then she’ll start mixing up AA with DP and cr fp. sakura really just zones me out. prevents me from being idle and charging back, and when i finally let go of my charge, she jumps in for free. her jump attacks have weird hitboxes and if i miss an anti air i get punished hard. of course if i ever do get the knockdown its in my favor for a slight bit because i can use oicho and lkxxhhs mixups but, more often than not i’m on the outside looking in. all my jumping attacks get AA’ed by cr fp anyway. i’ve even tried to empty jump in hopes she’d whiff a crouching fierce but more often than not i eat a well timed s hk as i’m landing. idk tough matchup for me.

never jump at sakura, c.hp will beat you everytime without fail. always use EX headbutt do anti-air her if you can, if not use early s.fierce, which will, at the very least trade with j.hk.

use c.jab to poke her, s.hk is easy for her to whiff punish because her c.mk is quick and has long range, avoid sticking laggy normals out outside of ranges where they won’t hit/be blocked or you’re asking to get knocked down by c.mkxxDP

c.jab is pretty much impossible to counterpoke, combos into hands, headbutt, also I don’t think sakura can punish a blocked headbutt, so you can abuse that so long as you’re not obvious about it.

almost all mixups after EX tastu can be blocked with some concentration and looking at the screen, sometimes a very tricky fake-cross-under-dash reset will catch you. lots of sakuras use hop-stoch now though but resets are still fairly popular. if you have to just guess and never try to tech.

thanks, i dont really fall for resets, i just get outplayed with the fundamentals. i guess.

anyway here is some video of me, that i’d like critiqued from a recent 2v2 tourney.

2v2 Random Tournament, super street fighter 4 ggs kensanity on USTREAM. Xbox

at 36:30 to 45:00 i challenge a sim an a el fuerte. the sim didn’t really anti air so i didn’t have too much trouble but the el fuerte mixup really confuses me.

at around 1:00:20 to 1:05:00 i challenge a seth and ryu. i really dont understand the seth matchup and i got really lucky in this match. when the seth starts mixing up the command grab in their game i get lost. how am i supposed to play this matchup? against the ryu i got caught in frame traps and i dropped some stuff but yeah, was tough. if i block a medium kick buffered into fireball, can i ultra 1?

at 1:47:00 to 1:52:56 i challenge a honda and ryu. nothing to talk about here i guess cuz the guy didn’t really know how to use ryu i guess.

from 1:58:00 on i get my ass raped by the seth again. i have no answers. i dont know. i always try to press up and end up eating a combo but when i dont try to jump or backdash i always eat command grab. idk.

sorry for the poor framerate or lack of sound. please help

Don’t jump so much, walk forward, I know it’s hard sometimes (not joking)

Fuerte and Seth are a pair of flying dicerolls, just do your best not to get locked in mixups and don’t do stupid stuff ESPECIALLY BUTTFLOPS when you do get knocked down/reset

I belive fuerte can punish headbutts for 1.5 zillion damage on block with U2, also realize fuerte has no defense or offense and only waits for you to do something he can exploit (Jumping, Buttflops, headbutts)

Seth can’t do any real damage running away, walk forward and work him to a position where he’s vulnerable. J.HP does pitiful damage as do blocked sonic booms.

Got a nice 15 games or So with Sagat and some funny shit against a Cammy from a while ago that I just put up.

I like the match with seth. clutch hands to super in last round. first round your mixup was cool too.

The HHS counterhit to ultra in that one match is glorious.

I like the butt splash into super. never thought that would have any real game application but alas you proved me wrong.

I also like the double oicho against teh ryu to setup the ultra 1 to catch backdash. that’s a gamble though right? i mean, i didn’t see an option select.

I’ll admit I gambled, but at the same time my gut told me to just do it. I had read that my opponent liked to back dash when he was under pressure from a game ago and waited til a crucial moment to score a big punish.

I don’t plink nor OS. :frowning:
