I know the gameplay kinda sucks. What do you guys think ? What should I be working on ?Been playing honda only for a month now so don’t be too hard on me please jiz.
ALRIGHT, I finally got some videos recorded. This is from a small tournament (SF community isn’t very large in my city, only about 20 participants in this tournament) that was held last Friday. I came 3rd overall, netting myself a cool $17. The 3 videos here are against the top 3 people in Ottawa (that we know of anyway. Perhaps there’s another den of elite SF players that just don’t come on SRK).
Couple things I noticed: I do too many random buttslams, I jump way too much at Guile (this matchup is my most frustrating, I find it much too hard to concentrate) aaand I get hit by Rufus’ crouching fierce a lot.
FYI any EX hands you see are just my faulty piano’ing skills. I only recently tried to start pianoing so I’m still a little sketchy at it.
I’m actually impressed. Not bad what so ever! I do worry the type of style in which you and your buddies handle matches. If this were a tournament, and i’m assuming it was, it seemed as nothing looked calculated at all. It looks more like drunken casuals or online play to me, which is not a bad thing, we do those types of games all the time!
Our community is pretty small in Hawaii, but our games are usually taken very seriously. I could tell that your execution and the idea of the matchups were there… but because the other person didn’t seem to be that cautious, and didnt seem very tournament savvyt, the matches appeared very sloppy. Overall I think you should keep up the good work. Im sure that random buttslams work sometimes or maybe more often than not, but i assure you one day, you will play someone who is actually gonna bait them and make you pay very dearly. My last bit of advice to you, and it just depends how serious you wanna take this “game,” is to not downgrade your play by the skill of your opponent. I could tell that you were better than both those players in the tournament and if you truly focused and applied yourself you could have double perfected both of them.
One last bit of advice for you, and I know people who “live and die” by the buttslam will argue with me on this point, and you can listen to me (a honda nobody) or listen to countless hondas with 100k BP who farm people with no skill.
It is up to you on how you want to play. Do you wanna do some random shit, like a full screen headbutt, a roundhouse buttslam outta nowhere, a jump in ultra 2, an HHS fadc ultra 2/oicho, a wakeup ultra, and MAYBE get a win, make the crowd go nuts, OR do you want to play smart, chip away at the opponents health, test their patience and willpower and take the hard road an actually play the game into the last seconds. You saw what happens when an opponent knows Honda’s bullshit. It doesn’t end very well. Anyway I suck, the choice is yours sir.
Our lord & savior is back in the mawashi and ready to put the hurt on Sims everywhere. He looks a little rusty initially, but finds his groove in the next few rounds.

This is the final match of a team tourney held this friday (nothing fancy, just for fun). Me vs Famous Swedish Dhalsim player and the saltiest guy in Scandinavia, Yagami
Nice work Bubblan. You are very underrated in the European scene IMO. Aside from the Ultra I, particularly liked the empty jump c.lk, c.lp hands.
As for comments on Akimo vs Chun, there are some Arcadia Vids on Youtube with him facing off against Nemo and an Ibuki player, however you won’t learn much from them as he gets beaten up.
