ok mr. snk i wanna make you my test dummy lol i see you can Fadc from D/F HK so would you just back dash into ultra? or just hold onto that focus lol too many options, i liked the good old days when i would just cross over butt slam and ex headbutt on wakeup

was hoping when you all see it the other honda player at fuddruckers will identify himself so i can get his name in the vid, good showing btw.

Thatās montry from 408
Good explanation of standing up first. That shit completely skipped my mind. I forgot how this game does not accept db as a back input at times.
Marn Vs ??? And a bunch of other Honda matches.

The fight at the end with Sagat also showās that he can actually link into Ultra off of a whiffed Fierce HB.
i think that match just goes to show how even really shitty sagats can give good hondas a hard time.
Can you write the exact time frame?
Its at the very endā¦ 2nd round I believeā¦ Itās a blocked HB and Sagat tiger uppercuts itā¦ if he can upper he can cancelā¦ he didnāt ultra in the vid but it IS possibleā¦ I think thatās what he meantā¦
Here are the vids from Utah Ranbat 1.7ā¦ Well, at least the ones from after I made it out of pools. I was nervous as hell, but fuck it I took 9th among some pretty good players. I was happy with that (for now). There were a shit ton of BIG mistakes that I made, mostly failing to punish or fucking up my punishments:
Loss against a REALLY good Guile:

Win against a pretty good Gen:

Win against a pretty good Sagat (he ended up ranking 1st for the season):

Some pretty embarrassing stuff going on here, but thatās kinda why Iām posting. Apart from the really obvious shit that I did wrong, what kind of advice can you guys give me?
I only watched the one vs. Sagat but I have to say (no offense) there were tooooo many mistakes. You let him get away with whiffed or blocked uppercuts, vs. Sagat you HAVE to take those for all they are worth (ochio throw). I can tell you were probably nervous Iāve been there.
Another thing vs. Sagat, you jumped in WAY too much. Thatās just asking to eat the newbies delight kick (HK).
Another mistake, too much buttslam (especially heavy ones). Whiffing these is as bad as whiffing a shoryuken. Itās tempting to go for it on wakeup but you must resist. Usually it will miss anyways, and give them a free cr.mkā>combo. Instead, just block the crossup and option select. Sometimes (like in this vid) ryu/sagat/whoever will crossup and then immediately jump again (he was doing it). If you catch them in this pattern, jump straight up and HP/HK after you block the crossup. Actually you should always be jumping straight up after getting crossed up unless you know they are going for a block string.
Iāll give you some of my hard learned advice vs. sagat:
When facing the dreaded fireball spam, the best thing to do is first block one or two while you get the rythm. If he still shoots, donāt jump in, rather do n.jump HP and slowly float towards him. Usually they will get jumpy here and go for the jumping elbow or try to get at you. Be prepared for the with another n.jump HP or HK if heās real close.
If he STILL wants to shoot fireballs, wait for your chance to strike. Whatās that chance? Well he will be used to you doing neutral jump by now, so if he throws a LOW fireball while you are even close to within reach, then you jump in (he wonāt be expecting it) with HP or MP (I say low because a high tiger shot will usually clip your tail end as you try and jump over it). If he eats it, follow with combo of choice. If he blocks it, go for tick ochio or crossup. Sometimes he will get the HK out in time and trade but you are close enough now.
Lastly, never do the lk.buttslam more than 2x in a row on wakeup. Mix it up w/ a proper crossup j.mk or ochio/blockā>ochio. You have to milk those knockdowns for all they are worth.
FINALLY, the last round was a heartbreaker. I made a thread called āfinishing the jobā because that exact same crap was happening to me (couldnāt shave off that last pick of health). You should go read it for some pointers.
Haha, I told you it was embarrassing! Oh, manā¦ I know. Funny thing is, I know better than to do a lot of those things. Youāre right. WAY too many mistakes. And failing to punish those whiffs were a huge reason to why I lost. I just got nervous, haha!
Thanks for the tips. Will take them to heart.
Chun li punishing whiffed ochio (for meter) with ultra on reaction.
It only took me eating 4 ultraās before I stopped doing that. LOL!
And I feel that Chun Vs Honda is 7-3 but because she has bad health it evenās out to 6-4.
Ii Desu Ketsu Bat vs a master Dhalsim. Sim wasnāt amazing but he was pretty good.
