Good news, judicious changes for Honda. LP Headbutt as anti-air was the key need. If they have added low body invincibility to MP headbutt, that is very smart and gives him two situational options. So a smart player will be able to work with this.
Long term gripes about his Ochio, Ultra 1 startup, and jumping MP will be ignored but we’ll live with it as the core need is answered. It is a bit galling, though, that they start by giving Ryu an easier way to combo into his Ultra 2 and make it a better Anti Air when Honda can do neither of these things, and even if he did, being a Charge Ultra, it would be less consistent and more situational.
The main thing I agree is missing, is fixing the pointless Ultra 2.
I’m happy to see LP Headbutt come back, but I too am hoping this isn’t the end of the changes. U2 being remotely useful would help a lot.
Oh yeah, I forgot the buttslam hitbox “glitch” on the way up for Medium and some distances for heavy - you push against opponents but do not hit. This should be fixed to make it a more effective mid range anti air/air-air

The headbutt changes are great. Many other things might have been nice, but I think this is what Honda needed the most for sure. Not having to constantly hoard super for reliable AA means Honda can spend it more readily on combos, which is kind of a damage buff in itself. Fei will now be doing less damage and is a little less safe, while Sagat and Chun haven’t really gotten any meaningful buffs. Looks like Honda will be a very respectable high mid tier in AE.

I would have been fine with a buffed Hp and maybe a better dash/backdash. Trying to get out of the ibuki vortex is a bitch
I think normalizing far fierce would be too much…maybe up the damage to 90 or 100 if only the hand hits (same damage if elbow hits). I’m gonna have to get re-acclimated to using jab headbutt instead of EX for anti-air. Maybe they should remove sweep, it’s one of the most useless normals of any character in SFIV haha, Honda already has three specials that cause knockdown. Better yet, make c.HP his sweep like Mak and c.HK something else. That might be too drastic, ah well.

I don’t think so… others characters have all received many buffs (fei and twins excluded), but Honda has only the lp.HB back (great buff… but the only one)… probably it will be a good mid-tier…
Things would change if capcom gives back to Honda the “old” mp.jump hitbox and a bit more damage to far-st.HP (from 80 to 100)… but this will never happen…
lp HB is very game changing, you will not use it a lot of as anti-air because people will not jump at you, it removes pressure just having it as a tool.
I used it as an antipoke most that anything else.
More that getting things back form super, I would part away with something new.
jab headbutt is okay, I’m sure damage will be tweaked on certain things. I hope HP hands will actually do more damage than MP and that s.hp is 120 at all ranges
changes to other characters affects honda more than his own changes. Twins, Fei Long, Makoto are all now easier. Dhalsim and Guile are technically harder but are still easier than in super for the most part. Chun, Sagat, Ken, Ryu are all the same. and all advantage matchups are basically the same or only slightly more even too.
I wonder if little things like Ex headbutt’s hit box vs Yoga Fire will change back to Super properties as well. You could do EX HB on seeing Yoga Fire startup, and pass through it to hit Dhalsim, then the Fire would hit honda in the mid/back and trade. A great trade that helped the Dhalsim matchup and without it, is a lot harder.
I’ve changed my mind, the thing I want the absolute most is jab > HHS > ex.HHS to work on the whole cast. PLEASE!
Then they should start first with the last hit of close LP into FP hands hitting everyone, standing and crouching.
