^Holy shit I never knew that.
Even though Toki was the most skilled practioner he had that illness that acted up at anytime he overexerted himself ,so even if he could escape he would never know when his sickness might kick in . Also he was probably waiting on Ken to save Cassandra.
There’s a really good wikipedia on the series. Been awhile since I’ve seen the series but there was a statement about Souther’s organs being reversed. He probably has Dextrocardia Situs Inversus Totalis, so all of his vital organs are mirrored instead of just the heart.
Good read.
El Chupa- I think it was definitely him waiting for Ken. Toki had Raoh sweating even with the illness.
Which in itself is rather odd, because Kenshiro Raoh can destroy just about anything with physical strength alone. Why couldn’t he just beat him into goo or poke his eyes out.
Souther is the general star, the most powerful of the nanto seiken (sp) heirs. In a way he is just as or more powerful than the Hokuto heirs. Raoh and Ken pummeled on each other for almost 2 episodes straight and neither came close to exploding. All of the Nanto guys are really strong except Juda. Shuu mentions none of them being able to touch Souther. He’s top tier of their constellation.
Souther dismantled Ken easier than anyone did throughout the whole story arc.
^Lol, except for Kaioh in their first encounter.
Man, I try to act like Fist of the North Star 2 never existed lol. I hate Kaioh, that old Raoh knock off. Plus he had DragonBall Z like powers shooting out giant beams and whatnot. The hand to hand combat got really weak in that sequel.
xD hahahahah yep yep, and I always notice how the new gaidens completely ignore any mention of Hnk2 save for that scene with Reina at the end of Raoh den 2, Bunson/Hara know that stuff was shit
Yea, they definitely dropped the ball on the sequel. It’s like they exhausted all of their creativity on the first series. All they did was make more powerful but more shallow characters compared to part 1. Even the Colonel was awesome with some depth to his motives albeit still insane. The characters didn’t have that in part 2.
I like how Falco (Dolph Lundren) gets worked by some random Azura ninja that Ken easily dispatches. This is the same Falco that gave Ken all he could handle only several episodes before?!? Doesn’t make any sense.
^Hahahah yeah, which is why it fucking kills me that Souten no Ken isn’t more popular, as they tried to do something fucking new with the series instead of redrawing the big bads and making some half assed excuse to extent the plot. I think there’s maybe one guy who looks similar to Raoh but not a carbon copy of him like Kaioh was.
edit: Though one failing of SnK is no mention of Nanto yet to my knowledge, so hopefully we’ll atleast see Ogai or something.
Yeah i like to display my figures, i dont like the idea of keeping them in a box. Anyway, i still got 2 Raoh figures coming, 1 kenshiro DX, & i have this badass figure i have yet opened up. Not sure where to put him but he’s huge bitch!
True Ken getting owned was actually quite funny, but no broken bones or anything?? I don’t agree about all the Nantos being really good. Shin was also pathetically weak, the excuse being he didn’t train because he didn’t think Ken would come after him :lame: Shin was a badass, I was really hoping in the new ones they would do his character some justice and give him more depth, but they didn’t. They made it out like Shin and Ken were so close that they were like brothers, but instead they just scratched the surface of an otherwise rather lame love story, to me Shin was pretty much the plot device for the entire series.
FOTNS2 would have been awesome though as a series if it was Raoh instead of Kenshiro. It got dumb at the end when they turned into Superman and pretty much started flying.
Anyone remember Cloud, I really enjoyed his character and MMA approach. Fight between him and Raoh was awesome, truely laugh out loud moments when Raoh changes into a giant and Cloud is left dangling from his arm attempting some sort of arm bar.
lolol, Jyuuza was definitely the best bar none of the Nanto Goshasei, especially considering the style he used was something made up. :P, I’m still laughing out loud at how the oldest fogey of the goshasei(Rihaku), ended up being the lone survivor, surviving all the way until the end of HNK2,
Yea, Shin was definitely awesome. I love that 2nd fight he had with Ken. He had that maniacal expression like “you done fucked up again Ken” until Ken catches his wrist and hits him with the ahhhhh tatatatatata.
One of my favorite fights is in one of the earlier episodes against the clawed punk in the cage who was slaughtering villagers. An actual digital clock pops up for the countdown, lol.
Anybody else catch that there were undertones of Rei possibly becoming a villain early on. It seemed like Ken was weary of him at first. Then Rei a couple of episodes later shreds Mamiya’s clothes like he might rape her. Then all of a sudden several episodes later he’s all warm hearted around her.
I would have liked to see some of the Nanto fighters fight one another or have more of a tied in back story besides just Juda and Rei, Shuu and Souther. I couldn’t really see Souther even being bothered by Juda though.
YEP YEP I got that vibe aswell, though was it his sister or was it a poor Japanese translation and meant to be fianc, either way it was rather disturbing. It’s as if the writers suddenly changed their minds about who Rey would me.
lol I remember the countdown clock! That had to be one of the most painful deaths, if I remember correctly he kept bending backwards until his spine snapped! OUCH.
Anyone prefer the western version to the JP, I was thankful that Manga Entertainment decided to release the remainder of the western version, the drum and bass soundtrack was great.
furious one: It wasnt really flying, I think the animators just wanted to be more dynamic. Or at least I dont remember any flying in the manga…
I almost cried when johnny cage died at the begining of hnk2.
Did anyone see hnk3? When kenshiro was taking care of Roahs son.
I also cried in my heart when rei died
Manly cries are ok!
Wait… theres a HNK3?? Manga or Anime!?
^I think he’s referring to the flashback of Ryu in Shin HnK
