GGAC Sessions at The Zone!
Thursday (Oct. 18), 7:00pm
Saturday (Oct. 20), 8:00pm
Playing fee will be $1 per hour.
Please bring any sticks you can. I will bring the smaller TV, and I’ll also be bringing Arcana Heart and Hokuto no Ken for sideplay.
I’ll definitely be there on Thursday just to see if I can really get into this game. I"ll only be there for a couple hours though. I don’t have a Playstation joystick though.
And what is this Arcana Heart that you guys are talking about?

The game has been out for about a year in Japanese arcades. The import ps2 port came out last week. Its a fun quirky game. Its a cross between Melty Blood and a little of GGXX in my opinion.
Theres already a 2nd Arcana Hearts coming out. From what I read in the thread new sprites, chars, etc.
My advice practice up because I got a feeling this will be one the tournaments at the Anime Con when it returns to Hawaii. As for it being a tournament fighter it was at this past SBO. So it does have some credability. Just to early to say if it will be come popular in the USA.

I’m not saying HnK is the best designed game ever but don’t blame its brokeness on instant kills. Just because they’re more useful than in Guilty Gear doesn’t mean the game is pretty broken. If you’re eating instant kills that means you’ve been eating combos that would’ve killed you anyway.
If you want a good reason why the game is broken, just blame the basketball combos. It’s fun getting hit by instant kills - it’s not fun getting hit by basketball.
You don’t need a DVD to see HnK matches. There are a lot on youtube.
yeah, I noticed that when I was watching the matches. Those combos are nutty. I dunno, my friend just told me the game was broken, so I thought thats was what he meant. oh and I knew about the youtube vids, but my friend gave me a bunch of sbo dvd’s before I moved out here…
and I really need to get a ride out there so I can play… I know I suck. but at least I’d know just how much I suck by playing other people…oh well, I’ll find a way…

When he was still in Hilo, he -was- the ONLY person that was interested in GG cause he knew some stuff about it. A few months before he moved back to Oahu, he really got into it and for a short while it was nice to have someone to converse/play with to some extent. If he were to play more GG I think his interest in it would go up cause there’s more potential players on Oahu then here on the Big Island. All he needs is time and motivation/reason. The opportunity for him to get into GG is good right now cause there ARE players in his area. I however, had to resort to going to EVO to play GG cause I had no real access to players here lol. Now I hope to change that with trips up to Oahu and maybe even the mainland in the hopes to be better prepared for next EVO. Its gonna be a long year…
Actually if you can deal with computer Thouther and Juda on max difficulty that should get you past most casual HnK players.

Yeah he said you play GGXX and is very good at it. You should tell him to play. I’m generally a 3s/CvS2 player but I dabble in GG among other things.

Ack due to a change of plans, I won’t be able to go down tonight. I’ll try tomorrow. I’m going to pick up Accent Core and hopefully I can get a PStwo since the joystick I have can’t be connected to my PS3. Hopefully with a lot more practice I would be able to get into this game.

D-Pad: LOL never get tired of playing!! All our matches are intense! It only makes us better players. I will see if I can come. I’m about 75% sure I can stop by after work but not entirely sure.
I might bring SC2 out tonight too so I can show James some of the broken shit from that game lol
Also, how much of the Zones scene plays SSBM? I’m really a newcomer to 2Ds, so I’m just wondering what everybody else plays.
I would but I barely have time to play anything at all other than pool at school. I wish I had a means of transportation so I could play Tekken or Accent Core. I’ll figure something out though…
We saw some kids playing SSBM tonight in that other room. Apparently they were getting owned by the cpu.
Anyway, gg to all the people I played. I guess these short sessions are better than the no sessions we had for the past 2 - 3 years.

thanks to everyone for coming down tonight! sorry about the limited play for such a big turnout of people. i will probably buy a TV for next thursday so we can have two dedicated GGAC tvs. i am thinking of buying a $130 one from walmart, but i need to know everyone who is going to pitch in.
