Hit Box - We so S Tier1!

Why are people acting like the Hit Box having fixed firmware suddenly fixes the entire SOCD problem?

It’s almost like people assume that the Hit Box was the only controller that was ever capable of SOCDs.

I’m a stick builder and I’m currently interested in building my own hit box. What are the measurements for the placement of the buttons on the control panel if your allowed to say.

  1. it shouldnt make the issue com back, i dont however know the extent of your injuries. However, using your thumb for all 8 way movement (tekken) can put a significant strain on the thumb (seeing how the thumb is also the weakest part of your hand). I dont forsee any problems with you using the hit box since the thumbs are mainly there for the single purpose of jumping.

  2. Its a preference really, I play using both thumbs depending on what I am doing, mainly left thumb is jump and right thumb for when i do tiger knees. Either play style will work, its about what your comfortable with.

It doesnt fix the problem within the game, however, we made sure thats not going to be an issue for the people to poke at the Hit box.
And yes, you mention double blocking the average joe will think of the hit box. Because people will advertise the Hit Box as it can double block! check the mvc3 thread “so double blocking is allowed at evo” The hit box was the first thing thrown into the fire, thats why i made a quick response vid that it cannote be done anymore. The point is that regardless if other controllers can do it, doesnt really concern us. We just want to make a product 100% without any possible cracks in to ruin the shine.

We arent releasing the template just yet, but we do have the measurements of the case in our website www.hitboxarcade.com

I believe if you opt out of the ps3 model, your name gets placed back into the line according to the its numerical order, that way you didnt waste your time and get sent back to the end of line.

I also got tired of waiting for a template, so I made a REALLY rough one using a top-down photo of the Hit Box. Its pretty much only good for figuring out how your art should be arranged, and it definitely isn’t something you should be using to print with. It is the exact dimensions given at Hitboxarcade.com

Can you tell us the exact model of Sanwa buttons that come built-in? I’m planning on modding mines and need to figure out their Seimitsu equivalents.

People, why are you asking them to give away proprietary things about their product?

Like their exact button layout measurements?

It’s really crass and disrespectful.

Not anymore than giving another stick maker your money for their originality

Yeah, I had someone put something together for me. But it wasn’t like I asked them for their layouts and specs. And they’ve even said they don’t care as long as it’s just a hobby thing and you’re not trying to sell them with their layout.

So, yeah, it’s pretty different.

That’s not a bad template at all. The inner parts of the buttons would give you a pretty much perfect hole size if you want to kind of work around the buttons like with d3v’s blazblue templates.

The buttons they are use are 24mm sanwa snap-ins seen here http://www.lizardlick.com/Sanwa-24mm-Snap-In-Buttons_c_175.html

And if you want to replace them with Seimitsus 24mm any of these will work

Hey dude, you didn’t want to wait around on them to get there stuff together, so you went to someone who could give you a similar product with a much faster turn around time. This guy is wanting to do the same thing as you did, finding his own way to get what they don’t yet have readily available. I guess you’re not in the wrong for seeking out another means to get your own, consumer right’s I suppose. But still don’t come in here trying to be all high and mighty against others when you aren’t a loyalist yourself.

Question to the hitbox gents: Are you guys still filling orders on the ps3 hitboxes, or have you guys filled all those orders and are now just waiting on the ps360+s to come in from akihabarashop so you can fill the 360/dual mod orders? Also I’m loving all the how to hitbox videos, save for the regular dashing one, I felt like that was covered in the first how to hitbox video. Might I suggest a how to 720 for the next video. I’ve been trying to figure out the rolling 720s on keyboard which isn’t exactly the same but I still seem to not be able to get the 720’s at all. Keep up the good work fellas and I can’t wait till you get the ps360s in so I can get my hitbox.

EDIT: Another question for you guys. What are the, if any, customization options when we are ordering our hitbox? I doubt you guys are doing custom artwork but do you guys have a couple of preset templates we can choose from, and do we get to pick the buttons colors?

Sure, I went around them and got it done. I didn’t ask them for their proprietary info to do it.

I’m just saying asking them for their shit is lame.

All hugs and kisses here from us. We enjoy custom sticks here also. A guy actually came to the hit box booth at wnf with his version. We didn’t give him dirty look at all, the guys who made the hit box are also custom stick builders and the hit box was just their own original idea to help themselves at first. Just now, they are marketing and selling their own patented product for the masses. In short we can’t stop people from making a stickless arcade controller. Just like how hori can’t stop Madcatz etc.

We aren’t releasing the template but everything else regarding the specs and materials used is readily available on the website.
.

We actually encourage originallity in their custom sticks

We’re still filling out orders for all boxes. These tutorial videos have been giving us a lot more orders every day, so we’re constantly busy over here. We have a couple customization options, the last time I checked we were running black and white faceplates with some button color options. We pre-make a lot of them with two button colors, one for the movement and one for the attack, so if you could keep yourself to that and not “every button is a different color” then you’ll most certainly get what you order.

I’m glad to hear that the videos are not only helping the masses get accustomed to the layout but are also bringing you guys in more business. I really how compact you guys have made the most current version of the hitboxes. So are the faceplates just blank with the hitbox logo on the side, like the ones that were shown in the interview with Noah video, in a black and white variety, or is the whole thing blank? I was thinking of one color for movement and one color for attack or even just one color for all the buttons so that won’t be hard for me. But how about mix and matched buttons i.e. white rim red plunger?

As of right now we only have 3 faceplates. White, black and black/red

The color options will be posted but customizing them will be difficult to not possible. I’m sure you can find the color scheme you want when we post them. It will most likely be either one color or two ( movement and action ) we also don’t have the mix and match variety in place just yet

Honestly the template and buttons colors used in the lesson three of how to hitbox video is perfectly fine for me. The black and read hitbox template with white movement and red attack buttons. Second option would be the white template with all red buttons. Do you guys have pics up of the three templates so I can see what they look like?

EDIT: My guess is the white one is all white with the hitbox logo on the left i.e. the one in the noah interview video. The black one is all black with the hitbox logo on the left i.e. the shadowloo hitbox video. And I’m hoping the red and black one is the one that is the how to hitbox videos with the large logo and across the whole template.

I really like the coloring in this video. Would a white faceplate with red, white and blue buttons be possible? If blue isn’t available, then what about just red and white buttons, red for the attack buttons and white for the movement buttons?

Are snap-ins and screw-ins interchangeable? I know next to nothing about stick hardware, this is my learning experience.

Mostly. AFAIK Snap-ins require a specific face plate thickness, screw ins need a bit more button-to-button clearance.

According to JohnGrimm he said that there should be no problems with using screw-ins and Snap ins don’t need a specific thickness. As long as the plate isn’t too thick snap ins will work and they use snaps is as default so there should be no problems with using either.

Exactly what I needed to know, thank you. My friend DarkHonor90 just told me that supposedly there is a thread on SRK devoted to this kind of info, so I’m lookinf for it now.
