I’d say do what feels more comfortable. I’ve been using hitbox for years and the only time I use my right thumb for up is for tiger knees or god fists.
@Bubbledotjpg To maximize the execution potential of the Hitbox there’s a certain way you’re supposed to use it. Your fingers on your right hand each assigned to two buttons and the thumb is for the jump. Learning to use it that way will prove the most beneficial and let you execute the fastest that’s possible on Hitbox. Pinky is used for last two action buttons and just move left which each finger and they work the two buttons underneath each finger. If you watch some of the official Hitbox videos you’ll see that Dustin and those guys play that way. Using one or two fingers to manipulate certain buttons happens because those fingers are weak and your body naturally wants to use a stronger finger to do the task. Same thing with using left thumb for jump, the right hand thumb is lazy and doesn’t want to do the work to move downward and press the button. Just train both hand with finger exercisers and hand bands and you’ll be ok. It’s like learning to type and why I don’t agree with Hitboxes with 30 mm action buttons. Completely defeats the purpose. Sorry for the essay!
I’m not seeing how deciding which thumb being used on jump makes the other way incorrect. Both thumbs rest next to each other and one can end up doing nothing depending on how you play. There is a difference between preference and doing something the incorrect way.
@Bubbledotjpg That’s cool, just my point is that to maximize the use of the Hitbox that’s how you play on it. There are people who can type decently fast using one finger on each hand, but a guy that learned to type using the home row and their entire hands will be much faster as far as raw WPM typing speed. That’s all I’m saying bro, if it works for you great, but the way the guys designed the Hitbox layout was meant for the way I was explaining. They felt that was the way to get the most speed and accuracy with execution.
That’s a pretty bad analogy but yeah
install brook UFB into official PS4 Hitbox. I assume it’s the same for Xbox one. Check out the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvGxt10Dw00
Is anyone in the UK selling one or know where to buy one? I’ve been searching for awhile now and building my own doesn’t seem viable
Dude the new format suuuccckkks compared to the old one. No more embedded videos? Pfft. I guess they had to do what they had to do. At least the information is still here…
I asked this question to Cloud_805 and Cl0ckw0rk, both top level hitbox players and they both said they left thumb jump unless doing a tigerknee motion. That is how I find most comfortable as well.
top level players Cl0ckw0rk and cloud_805 both said in stream that they use left thumb to jump unless doing a tiger knee motion. to each their own.
@Principlesof98 Top level in what? I"ve never heard of them and I follow fighting games pretty closely. Yes to each there own, we were just telling you the proper way to play on the controller. Do whatever you want, but Dustin and the guys that invented the Hitbox intended for you to play on it a certain way. That’s all we’re saying dude.
OK. First, being that greater than 70% of communication is non-verbal, and it’s next to impossible to accurately express how one means something online, I am going to take your comment sincerely and not as snarky and condescending as it is coming off here. Also, understand that regardless of how you may read my response, I intend it is polite. That being said… If you follow fighting games closely and honestly have never heard of these two than perhaps you should have put a quantifier on that statement such as “I follow X game closely” because both are top Marvel players, with Cloud 805 winning the battle of the stones over Justin wong, fchamp, LI joe, Chris G ect. Also, you are responding on a forum for SRK, a place that keeps track of all-time plaer rankings for various games. current all time marvel infinite cloud 805 is #3, clockwork is #18, both play HITBOX. Also, you have the internet, just use Google.
Secondly, to your point on “they intended for it to be used this way”. To which I say, so what? You are talking about fighting games here, every single game released was “intended” to be played a certain way, and every time a new game is released DAY ONE people are playing characters and using the games systems in ways the devs never thought about. Yes, we know as you have stated, the creaters of HITBOX planned for their layout to be used a certain way, so did sony and Microsoft when designing their game pads, but many pad players push the face buttons with their fingers in stead of their thumbs, heck, Broleylegs plays with his FACE!! What if someone has a disability? And cannot use their right thumb? or doesn’t have a right thumb?? Who honestly cares how someone uses or enjoys a controller or game? you are basically arguing button layout/button mapping. THERE IS NO RIGHT ANSWER! (unless you want to play Melee, apparently you ARE only allowed to play a certain way LOL!) Try different things, and use what works BEST for YOU. because there is NO ONE BEST for everyone.

Ok dude. I’m done here.
I have a hitbox and I want to put a ufb in it. The only issue I have is that I don’t want to cut the harnesses. Is there a way for my to get another set of harnessas that they used?
Does your UFB have screw terminals? If it does you could look into a 20 pin harness from Focus attack and use that instead.
Evo 2018 was lit! Just wondering if anyone got any sort of media coverage on HitBox players? It would be nice to see our comrades on the field.
Mike Ross was playing on hitbox with GuiltyGearRev2
