Hit Box - We so S Tier1!

Can also confirm no share functionality on new PS4 Hitbox. No button combination found will allow the Brooks updater to recognize the device.

Its almost been a week and still no firmware update from Hitbox.

So the firmware page on the hitbox website updated with this info:

So those of us with the share function problem get to wait longer, I gather from this. Wheee…

Please add an extra SHARE button to enter updated mode

Does the board inside actually have a pin for share? You could always try manually jumping them if you know what you are doing and are desperate to update if what would even work.

No idea why all new sticks these days just don’t have ~6 option buttons for modern consoles…

@kardus

Look it as this picture

I don’t actually have a hitbox, but hopefully that helps anyone with the problem.

If you’re using any other Brook firmware than for ps2>PS3/4 firmware, it’s the wrong one.

Don’t use PS3/4 fightboard firmware or UFB firmware.

Just to confirm, the ā€œofficialā€ brook software distributed by hitbox with the filename renamed is actually the Brook PS2>ps3/4 TE firmware

Hash on both is 77064CF401486CD321EC67B877973E00

Also, I have a Pre-June ps4 hitbox, and the firmware for the ps2>ps3/4 firmware on Brook’s site as well as on hitboxarcade.com all get rid of the 8 minute timeout. The screenshots are out of date (should say 1.8), but the process is the same:
Hold Home (far left button), plug in, click update, enjoy.

I had a theory and I was right, according to inside sources. If anyone has a post June hitbox and doesn’t mind opening it up, I have a potential fix. Please post the inside of your hitbox and let me see how the wires are connected to the pcb.

PMed you

That definitely looks like a Brooks Fighting Board.

@Helwolfe @Noryia @Vicko
Yes, it looks like a Brook but ran in different firmware as below link

  1. Disable Virus software
  2. Press two combo.keys then plugged in USB
  3. Click to update and waiting
  4. If you don’t have share key, I suggested to solder an extra button.

What do you mean by two combo.keys?

@Helwolfe
(1)the fightboard must to use two buttons (PS+Share) to enter updated mode.
(2)the PS2->PS4 converter, only used one key (PS).

Alright, tweezers and update worked. Thanks!

Here’s a fix for anyone that is brave, or just wait to see if there’s a special update released for those that don’t have a share button (post June Hitbox owners):

Big thanks to Dustin from Hitbox for the pics and the ideas!

Got it fixed and updated last night. My local modder helped solder to change the Touchpad button to be Share instead. Afterwards it was a straightforward update by holding down Home + Share.
