How would I know that Y/Tri is Medium Punch in the first place? Not like the buttons are labelled hehe. Joystick configuration shows Button 4 as equivalent to Medium Punch. If I plug the stick in while holding down that button nothing noteworthy happens and it doesn’t work in SFV either. Under devices it seems as if I had plugged it in normally.
However as to which arcade stick I have exactly I believe it is either PS3/PC or 360/PC. There was only one PC version a couple years back - I think it was the PS3 one, but I could be wrong. The stick itself is like 3+ years old from them. Pretty much looks like this one: http://www.hitboxarcade.com/products/hit-box-multi-console
I am more concerned that I activated something of these:
Configuration Mode (Ver. 1.1 to Ver. 1.66) Select between LS/DP/RS Enter Configuration Mode by pressing SELECT + 1P, 2P and 3P together, after that it is same as “Pre Ver. 1.0”.
Toggling S+S=H Enter Configuration Mode by pressing SELECT + 1P, 2P and 3P together, after that it is same as “Pre Ver. 1.0”.
Configuration Mode (Ver. 1.0 and older) Select between LS/DP/RS Enter Configuration Mode by pressing SELECT and 2P together. Now you can choose LS/DP/RS by moving the joystick: Left = LS, Up = DP, Right = RS. Press START to exit Configuration Mode.
Toggling S+S=H Enter Configuration Mode by pressing SELECT and 2P together. Now press the joystick DOWN to toggle S+S=H on/off. You can only toggle S+S=H once per active Configuration Mode to alleviate overlaps while remaining in the mode. Press START to exit Configuration Mode.
Since I actually pressed all the button simultaniously. Well I am now checking thrrough the LS/DP/RS options. Not sure what all that even means. All I know is that it worked, I pressed all buttons and it stopped working.
Vicko I dont know. The stick doesn’t have any labels except Hitbox. How I remember it it was PS3/PC, but I could definitely be wrong. Maybe it is Xbox 360/PC or multi-console. At this point only the hitbox team can answer. Tried searching Paypal for the order, but it doesn’t go that far back without waiting time and even that is only a slim chance that it would have the description of the variant.
However I can at least say that if I force the NES mode, that an unknown controller device is plugged in. So it could be the PS360+ PCB. I wrote an email to the hitbox guys asking if they are sure that I have the PS360+, but I am awaiting the answer.
There is only so much I can tell from 4 red, 3 white and 8 black buttons unfortunately.
One thing though: Would I need to use that Joystick program for it to work? Or should it work ‘as-is’ aswell.
went to the shop to get the 2mm hex wrench and a USB A to A cable to fix the connection. The PCB isn’t the 360+. It is the Toodles Cthulhu. It isn’t broken either it works fine with street fighter 4, just won’t play properly with street fighter 5. Joy2key nor x360_ce both don’t make a difference. Doesn’t matter if they are inactive or active (so my stick might actually not be working in SF5 anyway) it still goes into rapid disconnection mode.
Vicko if repeater or cable is the problem. Why can I play street fighter 4 for hours without a problem? Shops are closed today, I can change the cable certainly tomorrow without big of an issue, but I don’t see it helping. The repeater could help if it disabled deconnections alltogether.
So I had the pleasure of modding both the PS4 and XB1 Hitboxes at NCR.
For whoever cares, they are not common ground. They cannot be dual modded without some technical wizardry, so I just ended up replacing them with a Brook UFB.
Really want to build one of these things with a brooks! Although I really want that new sanwa Omni (which I don’t believe has as changeable playfield). Wish I could try one out first.
I’m getting disconnects after the new PS4 firmware update. Aftera about 5 to 8 minutes the hitbox will stop working and my character will just crouch down and do nothing. I have to unplug the usb, plug it back in, and then sign into the account.
Extract that and run the file inside. You may need to Run as Administrator on some machines.
You’ll have to hold HOME while plugging in your Hitbox to initiate the update, and press HOME again during some point of the “Verify” phase or else the update will report as “Failed.” If you don’t press HOME, it will have updated but the verification will have failed, so if you want to be double sure that your update took, press HOME when it says verifying.
Also, the SHARE button is now mapped to TOUCHPAD_CLICK, so you can use training mode in SFV with ease! This button still acts as SELECT on PS3. If you want to take screenshots/record videos, you will need a separate controller.
