Hi everyone I got some questions

Hi people. I thought I’d introduce myself by asking some questions I’ve been wondering about relating to frame data in fighting games.

  1. Do startup frames include the frames of the input of the move itself? Or does it only count the frames after the input?
  2. Does the first active frame of a move start as soon as it can hit an opponent, or is it the frames after the hit frame that is counted?

Sorry if I asked confusingly and yes I’ve read the guide on here, but this is all new to me and it’s hard to sink in lol.

  1. Frames of the move.
  2. Active frames of a move; all the frames in which a move can damage an opponent should they fall into the range of the hitbox.
