I saw one of your matches in the neo empire thing the other day and I was wondering why you hop back from a crumple and hop forward and hit once with a medium kick?
well it was only after the match i was informed that shotos, sagat, cammy sakura, gouken etc can all do db,df,db,df P to get an anticross up srk thus invalidating my reset mixup. i can dictate which side i land on and do a combo after the crumple depending on whether i use cr.mk /cr.lk hops and dashes. but now i can only use it on certain characters safely.
now vs sagat i will still do the reset but use ex upball to stuff anti crossup srk attempts, has to be done a frame or two late to beat srk’s. or i just link ultra off cr.mk but i’m not comfy doing that yet, although i did get it off at yesterdays tournament
so you’re saying that ryu-types can’t be crossed up as long as they know this little db,df,db,df trick? If that’s true…man. One more tool rendered useless.

Basically, ye. It can also lead to getting hit with ryus ultra which is really annoying. Ive started doing empty crossups cos their dragon punch whiffs then.
l3g3nd: i was doing (or attempting hoorah for lag) c.mk, st. lp, ball fadc and was optioning to dash forward and repeating the combo again. its really good for keeping the pressure up.
magnusprime: one thing i hate about this game is that it is scrub friendly. people can just mash shit and moves will come out. hence db,df,db, df = easy mode shoryus/tigger uppercuts. you can still crossup ryu and any uppercut characters - you just need to be precise with the timing.

i got 2 quick fights w/moval last week. he was using ryu and pressuring like crazy w/dash combos. i never had anyone do that so much. it was overwhelming. i won fight 2 though ;). even w/2 fights i haven’t faced anyone on that level.

beastspl: ggs man - i feel like a broken record when i say you rainbow roll alot. you could’ve won more games if you didnt do it so much. you even wasted ex meters with it. and agasnt ryu or any other characters with fireball moves, you’re going to need those ex meters. keep practicing and we’ll play again.
