that jb.jab… the first time i saw it, it looked like an instant overhead on ruf. had to hit that rewiiiind lol

also: i messed around a bit last night w/that sweep combo… couldnt get the sweep to connect, it always barely missed(spacing not timing… which, it feels like really quick timing on those last links!). ill prolly mess around w/it more today.

Ahh yes sorry! Yeah it was yota who sent me to losers then a rematch from groups with kb1121, sick ryu player. To tell the truth, there’s a 3 v 3 tourney coming up and there’s a lot of beastly teams so I’m finding stuff out in advance for it.

Also with the new sweep combo, it’s better to do the s.LP really early. The link to sweep is quick as well. I think it’s practical because you can confirm the hit. You might see me use it in the next tournies lol.

As for the jb.LP it works as a fuzzy guard tool but I used it as on his wakeup just incase he decided to ex messiah.

Here’s the list of who the LP CU -> EX CU juggle works on, and the list of who you can do HP CU -> hold up forward for a safe jump on. I didn’t post this list anywhere else because there’s a few I want to double check, because I tested this months ago. Besides that, I think all the people that actually care are here, so I can still get the information out.

Also, you can see how there is a correlation where if the LP CU -> EX CU doesn’t work on the character, the HP CU -> jump is usually a safe jump. Basically, there’s just some exceptions where they had a reversal that can’t be safe jumped to begin with like Akuma, DeeJay, and Fuerte.

Also, I commented on the news post that I’m pretty sad because I realized right after I released the video that I could have done a better combo for the second to last combo. Instead of meaty cl.MP, t.MP, c.MP xx Zonk, I could have done cl.HP, t.MP, c.MP xx Zonk. Not only is it more damage/stun, but it’s actually also easier, because you can just hold the HP when you hit cl.HP, and then release it for the zonk for a perfectly timed level 1 zonk.

Oh well. The cl.MP combo still looks pretty sweet :wgrin:.

thanks for the tips and videos ryan keep up the good work, also you never really talk about cody with super and super cancels, occasionally i have a super filled and combo into it im just confused waht i should do, criminal upper super cancel with hk does less damage then just hk ruffian super cancel, what is your preference for best super cancel with cody.

Wow this is great info. However I am curious about Gouken. I tried this before posting but you can use gouken’s counter move against the safe jump. Did I miss something here or is the chart incorrect?

I know I’ve brought up this before, but wanted to know if anyone can confirm if this safejump back throw is completely accurate. I assume so since its based mostly on frame data.

edit: I have done extensive searching for this info but can’t find it. I remember reading/seeing something that essentially shuts down Rufus’ options. I think it was a safe jump after a back throw OS ex-zonk, but wanted to find more specifics. I’ve literally looked everywhere and can’t find it, maybe someone knows what I’m talking about and can help.

Also on a side note; there is tons of good matchup info all over the place on this forum and on other blogs. I was going to start compiling some of the information together, but I’m not really sure where would be the best place to dump it all? Any suggestions?

the whole “safe jump” setups need more “recording”, hence writing stuff down. this includes empty jumps and safe attack jumps. at least for those two viable ones. (after backthrow and after cu).

I’ve tested this further and there is alot more to it then just corner comboablity.

characters can be comboed after a lp cu in the corner with ex cu -on the list-:

  • some characters can be comboed after a lp cu midscreen with ex cu
  • some characters can be comboed after a lp cu in the corner with u2 -on the list- [ex cu combable = u2 comboable]
  • some characters can be comboed after a lp cu midscreen with u2 -on the list- [ex cu combable = u2 comboable]
  • some characters can be comboed after a mp cu in the corner with ex cu
  • some characters can be comboed after a mp cu midscreen with ex cu
  • some characters can be comboed after a mp cu in the corner with u2
  • some characters can be comboed after a mp cu midscreen with u2

characters on your list that can’t be comboed after a lp cu in the corner:

  • can be comboed midscreen with u2. when the lp cu hits at a specific range. this will alter their flight distance and duration [some exceptions, found sakura and juri so far]
  • can’t be juggled with mp cu in any way.
  • can’t be comboed in the corner at all. the wall shortens their flight height and duration again.

didn’t tested all on everyone yet. only partial - will work on it later on. if requested I will update your list with those informations.

After doing my own safe jump testing, using the c.lp c.lp c.mp HP.CU with a follow up HK, I have confirmed that Gouken can counter with his “counter move” and Fei can counter with his u2.

The previous post with the back throw jump safety seems to be correct, with the addition that adon can be Back throw safe jumped against.

Has anyone here played around with cl.HK and have consistent good results? I’ve been messing around with it and it’s actually really good. However, it seems that right outside of 2 jab range is when it gets iffy since far HK will just come out. How do you guys use it, if use it at all?

just against ppls point blank neutral jumps, and defend against poorly timed crossups, thats about it rly.

Just a quick note in this thread, I was in training mode the other day and before I shut it off, I retested the “Quickrise safejump from HP CU” on Adon, since the “Y” for him was really bugging me because it didn’t seem right, and sure enough, it doesn’t work. I don’t know why I had it as yes originally…again, I compiled that list months and months and months ago, so I must have tested wrong against him. Anyway, just wanted to point it out. I’m going to edit my original post with the list for future reference.

that’s old^^ if the dust only hits once you can juggle into full animation. you can actually aa hk ruffian FADC into u2 aswell, but this is sooooo difficult to time [because the dust has to hit only once] and the risk / reward is way to low for that.

I liked the gouken combo. also that c.lp into u2 is pretty neat.

from a viewers point of view: stop taunting… .it’s SO OVERUSED. the first one was legit, but the rest… well meh.

the whiff mk was a corpse hop that i accidentally did on zang, but that came back later vs seth for positioning(ruffian corpse hop, jump out, f.dash. exrocks, meaty s.fierce), so since the beginning was odd stuff i left it in :sweat:

as far as showing the damage, ill say all those akuma & seth combos are either well over or just under 600dmg :razz:
i wasnt really concerned too much w/that since the vid was mostly just to showcase new&esoteric concepts & also served well as a creative outlet.
