Some of you might have played me as chizzlez86 on xbox live. I usually main Balrog, Im decent but not the best. I just need to figure out a way to fight against top tier Gief’s as they really whoop me. I look forward to being a contributing regular here as it seems like a great group.
Stuff giefs jumps with kick dash and standing normals such as stand strong for close jumps and stand fierce for far jumps. When gief lariats nearby try walking up and sweeping if you’re close enough. If you aren’t you’ll be open to a spd while trying to get near. If you’re charged with a super and are just outside sweep range and see a lariat do a kick super on reaction then let straight punches finish gief off. The punch version will lose to the lariat. Also if this is mistimed and blocked you’re getting a free pile driver.
You’re really in shit if you get knocked down and gief gets close enough for multiple jabs into spd. You’ll only get one chance to reversal headbutt out of the 1-5 hitstring then spd or jabs into nothing then spd your whiffed headbutt.
Your best bet in this match is to keep him from ever getting in.
