To accomplish it, use Bear Trap, Boulder Trap right after, dash right after, launch, SJC into Boulder Trap and the first Boulder Trap that was there will go off as soon as you launch, making you able to place a new one.

SJ, j.S canceled into down Skates, j.S, repeat. Midscreen you’ll have to work in a downforward Skates j.S since you’ll be a bit too far to do down Skates j.S, but you can keep it going.

And his combos are tighter, as far as timing, than most characters. The lag and risk of being hit is there big time. Played online yesterday for the first time and it took some getting used to but I was getting mostly everything. Looks like he has to get in and stay in. Zoning with traps just gets blown up by teleporting characters, along with the hitboxes on most characters’ normals being bigger than him entirely, especially with normals that move forward (i.e., Zero).

One thing that is a clear concern for having RR on point I guess is meter building. We should start adding meter gain to combos w/o videos!

That reason alone is why I run RR in the second slot and run Dante on point.

Going to try to look into how much bar his traps build on hit/block. My sole motivation for my team is to just style and lock shit down with the Coon right from the very start. I’ll find a way!!!

How exactly are you guys getting combo’s started? Waiting for them to come to you? Teleport+assist cover? My biggest problem is just getting that first hit. any tips?

In general, it seems like you need to either get an assist or your traps to hit the other opponent, like you said with teleport mixups, or just lock them down so you can get in there and go for your overheads and the like. You don’t want them coming to you. His zoning game seems half-assed but his potential mixup is ridiculous. I feel that randomness is to be feared so much for RR due to his health. Random mashes, teleports, and the like could bring the Coon down so easily.

One thing that’s especially scary is the start of a match. The opposing character can take this time to get near RR for free -.-

Rush that shit down, IMO Rocket Raccoon doesn’t really have the tools to zone when he designed to be lame or offensive. Ala Runaway/rushdown character depending on the scenario. You should really just go offensive, and make people feel afraid about Rocky’s mixups. If you need to run around away, set up traps…stay away from the people… You can’t zone like your Ghost Rider when you don’t have the ability to control the screen.

So Your Basically saying you can’t really do shit without an assist?
Becasue im haveing the same problem. I got his combos down I just cant seem to land a hit with him. His burrow is good but i usually get punished for using it. ive Tried zoning a bit usin Boulder, Shrapnel, And Log Traps which works at keeping them away, but you can’t win with chip damage alone and They are punishable. Then there are Characters like Trish, Firebrand, & Hawkeye Who I dont know How approach let alone defend myself against. I Need help…

he’s really hard to hit so they put themselves in real bad places trying to tag him

So I’m using Ghost Rider/Rocket Raccoon/Dormammu, I’m having trouble with getting punished or c.L mashed out of burrows, is there anyway this team could make it a little safer? Or should I be looking at different teams or just not teleporting?

My team is RR/Spencer/Super-Skrull.

So what I know from running him on point which is mad fun mind you, is that its not hard getting combos in on people…Well most of my combos are from grab but after that is the mix up and what not.

Usually i to M spitfire while calling spencer to do his slant grapple. If either connect thats good. I usually fire one spit fire so incase grapple does connect i can go into BnB. I guess i could record some matches so you guys can see. Also if you guys master that boulder loop, you can get like 750k-900k off a grab with 3 meters and the right mashable supers, and a corner, maybe even more, thats just off my team.

But ya grabs are awesome. Fast, quick, to the point. Try doing combos off that, it’ll probably be all you get.

Also spitfire M, x factor, burrow. Equal easy mix up but its a one shot but its been working!

Thats actually a really smart gamestyle. Sadly my team Really cant help combo after a grab. I think i can do a 200k combo at best after a throw Which is really poor. but i dont plan on changing my team… I cannot execute the boulder loop. ITs way to hard ina real match for me, and I can never hit with that log trap after the boulder loop. you team seems to have great synergy.

Alot of people seem to be afraid to rush down with RR because of his health. NO FEAR my friends. You learn that when you play Strider against MSP :wasted: Rush dat shit down.

actually thinking these people played mvc2, or even strider in mvc2… cmon man.
