He's in the trees! And he's flarking mad! - The Rocket Raccoon Thread

so important bits:

  1. Second assist is not bear trap, but rather fragmentation trap (which makes sense from the name)
  2. Burrow is actually way better than first thought. It’s a front/back teleport AND has the holdable version, AND you can hyper-cancel the holdable version.
  3. Spring trap does not dissapear on hit. That’s a total bitch for the other guy.

Edit: Guy, I have a suspicion that that's gonna get nerfed.

Again, burrow is the only reason RR seems broken to me. There’s just no way something like that can’t be broken. And he can hyper out of it? Screw it if that stays i’m definitely gonna use RR.

DAMNIT CAPCOM GET SOME SENSE!

burrow looks far better than I thought it was going to be

MUCH

we got mixups

spring bouncing lol

I don’t even care I REFUSE TO PLAY HIM KEEPAWAY

Is it wrong that I read this and immediately thought “So, I can finally have Dante on point using Jam Session assist”?

No. Not at all.

normally its hard to setup, but this just occurred to me, I wonder if claymore OTG’s as an assist?

No it doesn’t.

that was quick, thanks

Lmao… This little guy is going to cause all kinds of sodium… I cannot wait. The whole Level 3 or Spring Trap from Burrow is going to be the cause of a real life on stream fight. Just watch.

Added the information from those impressions into the first post.

Still wonder if he can call assists while burrowed. That’d be… pretty frustrating, though I doubt he can do that.

Seems like it would violate ‘no calling assists during special moves’, anyways.

I’m guessing that the problem with not being able to block is level 3 was that it hits low.

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. Dunno if it counts as some sort of non-special state if he can move around, but we’ll see.

Good point.

Awesome notes, I’m not a fan of the “down down” moves but I’ll learn to live with it I guess. Also I wonder how much experimenting they actually did with log assist and why they were having trouble getting a hit after wall bounce…

I’ll be interested to see how good burrowing is once it is ‘out in the wild,’ so to speak.

I thought they meant getting it to hit period. Like I said before, it’s really fast and you can jump over it.

Hmm I guess I did read that wrong. I still think it will be deadly in the right hands. It doesn’t matter if you can jump over it if you’re in the middle of an air dash or getting pinned down or attempting to rush down…and so on.

The fact the :h: burrow is hyper cancelable at any time sounds horrifying. Why can’t the 15th happen already!?

You mean, as in it’s better on paper than in play. Maybe. Where he is is very visible. Who knows, though.
