He's in the trees! And he's flarking mad! - The Rocket Raccoon Thread

hey sometimes you just gotta style on somebody

I say Rocket Raccoon isnt at the most obvious levels a mixup/rushdown character and I’m theory fighting because the game isnt out?

It doesnt take very much to deduce from looking at what he can actually do to see that he will be better suited as a keepaway character. He has a projectile moveset that covers a massive amount of horizontal space. Fact. He has a teleport. Fact. He has a command dash. Fact. He does average damage. Fact. He has short stubby limbs and very short range normals. Fact. This isnt under the presumption that in 3 months someone will find out how to break the engine and make RR some blockstring monster, there is a basic logic that says if you have no idea how to play him all signs point to keepaway.

Thinking that he will have enough time to hard tag after a net trap or setting up oil bomb unblockables are things that may be possible, but the practicality of going down that road when its OBVIOUS he will be able to command the screen just well doing what you KNOW he was meant to do…well thats a little presumptuous on your part to insinuate that I’m “theory fighting”…well no, I have eyes and I’m pretty decent at this game. Marvel aint brain stem surgery.

Why I had to explain that in detail, as if it wasnt obvious…who knows.

I like how you used all those big words, than had to edit your post because you spelled ‘why’ wrong.

This is all fan wanking until the fifteenth, and I think everyone understands that, so there is no need to be defensive about it. There are some obvious tactics and archetypes that come to mind during all the new character trailers, but until we actually get hands on with the game, we aren’t going to know for sure. Now isn’t the time to get into a slap fight about how Rocket *should *be played; it is a time to talk about how cool it is going to be to hit people in the face with a log.

Hitting people in the face with a log will be so awesome. I’m going to dig up my XBL headset just so I can play this over it:

Shit be rolling over dogs.

Are we still giving our responses sustinence by prefacing statements with bad attempts at being grammar nazis?

Sorry I have fat fingers and this is an ipad. Suck it.

Just like every good character in mvc3, rocky will be able to runaway and rushdown

Again.
If he were here, he would torture every last one of you for letting this thread fall.

“STOP SCREWIN’ AROUND AND GET TA’ WORK YA BLOODY WANKAHS!”

This thread can’t fail. It’s ridin’ on ‘dem rocket–rocket–rocket skates! So yeah, again, how you guys feel about gettin’ hit confirms with his crouching :h: and standing :h: laser pistol thing?

Upwards beam canceled into rocket skates? Sounds good to me!

Well… what do you expect? The games not out yet and we have limited footage to work with. The thread will pick up once the game is released.

No excuses, sir.

No excuses.

I don’t know why but being hit with log trap looks funny as hell

I wonder if you could get the grenade to detonate behind somebody?

I am slow… I just realized he tosses a frigging grenade … if thats a regular normal and not a command normal then that is going to be good.

his jumping s is the grenade lol

The knife air normal is kind of odd. He swings it upwards at an odd angle.

I’m also wondering if his j.M hits high…I’m sure it does, but for an aerial dash it could be problematic.

j.m is defo high wouldn’t make sense otherwise

its like if ammys c.m was her air dash

I thought this was pretty funny lol

Well I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really thinking about mobile devices when I set up the post that way. The logic behind it was to make it so that people could get to the information they wanted to without really having to look at anything else or scroll down a ton to get to where they wanted to. The images are obnoxiously big and I have a tendency to embed videos anyway, so I don’t know.

It’s also inspired a bit by Karsticles’ Ultimate Dormmamu Thread. They offering the use of that format for the Ultimate characters’ topics not too long ago.

I wonder just how close j.:s: is to B.B.Hood’s landmine anyway.

That’s a really good comparison, I’m surprised not to have seen that (or thought about it yet).

Looks like the explosion is bigger and it goes more forward than down, compared to BBHood.
