Opinion about the setups from me and Patrick(Padkuma), there has been a really great showing but there needs to be some sort of priority in systems because it’s really not enough setups for everyone’s need.
I know equipment are limited at HW(i.e. monitors), but something like tonight, there was not an even rotation. 2 MK stations between 4 - 5 players was far too much whereas the people playing SSFIV had to rotate constantly to get the lines going, I’m not sure about MvC3 but it seemed like there were tons of stations there including the MK9 Station out front that turned into a MvC3 one.
-Earlier in the day there were 2 MK9 stations, 1 PS2, 1 SSFIV and 3 MvC3 stations.
-Later it changed to 1 MK9 station, 1 PS2, 2 SSFIV and still 3 MvC3 stations.
Just an opinion of how we saw it tonight, I’m sure after seeing the tally or registrations for YRSF League Season 2, it will be more properly set up when it starts. Again, I don’t mind how it is but seeing how there was a massive clog waiting for SSFIV was an indicator of players.

As far as set-ups & stations go, first and foremost I would like to remind everyone who’s playing to please be courteous and run best 2 out of 3, winner stays, so that anyone waiting can get a turn. For those waiting, don’t be afraid to call “next” on any set-up.
If there’s a need for more set-ups for any particular game just approach any of the HW staff - Jon, Andre, Justin, Patrick.
Feel free to come find me (Hidey) as well since I’ve usually got extra software on-hand so we can balance things out.
yes…we are working on a more organized way to set them up…i have that new whiteboard up that we could start writing down names of what games ppl want to play and do it more mathematically. we’ll also try to have at least one more setup…so we can have like 3 ssfiv, 3 mvc3, and maybe 1 mk9 since it’s still new…actually the CRT could be used for a new game as well like mk9 or another super…unless ppl liked the ps2 there
guess i could start asking ppl to bring stuff from now so we’re a bit more organized…so if steve brings the same stuff next week we got our 8th set up no problem
also thanks for the input steve! but don’t be shy ppl and let me or hidey know during casuals as well so we can see what can be done. also steve since you’re a HW regular don’t hesitate to get things rolling yourself and call for a game switch, you lend out so many sticks that ppl should listen to you
Sorry, Jon, didn’t wanna sound like a ass in my last post but it’s usually very funny how the game SSFIV gets very popular towards the end of the night. I’ve noticed a strange trend for the last two casuals that right around 7 - 8-ish that SSFIV gets higher in demand for some reason. This might be the fact that some of the people who play it arrive around then(Patrick and Jesse are + 2 already).
Anyway, just like to mention how much I appreciate the staff at HW and Hidey go through to make these casuals happen. I’m thinking the most vital equipment now at HW are monitors, everyone is nice enough to bring and share their sticks and consoles from what I’ve seen so far.

Jon and Hidey, I have no problem bringing my PS3 and 360 + cables and sticks every casuals so long as I have a proper ride lol~
I can’t speak for everyone but we should get something going like one side of MvC3 and one side of SSFIV(3 stations each) in the back room and random 3 stations in the front or something 
Unfortunately HRAP EX won’t be around long anymore…that’s why I’m hoping to gather the funds quicker to complete the Sega CP so atleast I can supply a 2 player layout for everyone(unforuntately, one Seimitsu side and on Sanwa side) haha!
Couldn’t help but see that the spacing in the back was kind of cramped.
Perhaps spreading the systems out a bit more (i.e. use the entire length of the room) could help ease the… bunching and possibility of man touching?
there are two other monitors lying around at Heroes World…but they are much smaller but i guess they would be better than nothing
we also had a little power brick issue again…so we could have had one more setup…that said i think 1 or 2 more stations would have pretty much solved everything

yep…reason for the bunching was lack of extension cables. stuff will definitely be more spread out next week

So HW is basically free for gaming casuals every Wednesday right? I think this is the peak point of HW getting so many attendees that it could only get bigger with all these next gen fighters coming out…I remember the days where it was only the three stations out front…oh nostalgia…Which reminds me to mark the anniversary of this thread created, how many people are reppin’ HW at Anime North this year? I know Hidey is setting something up at the gaming area of the convention and some of us are going as well. Should make some kind of communication to pass out to the local anime fans possibly interested in fighting games for HW, YRSF and Microplay! If only someone has invented something like that.
Agree with Jon - input = output, feedback always welcome and I encourage anyone who is one of the HW “alumni” like Steve to not hesitate in stepping up and suggesting station rotation/changes, etc.
With the warm weather and University exams wrapping up, I’m sure interest in casuals will continue to grow.

I will see if I can start bringing my evo monitor to casuals. But I won’t be bringing my xbox since it is too much to lug around. Maybe if Steve brings his we can be sure to have evo setup with DLC characters.

also i wanna thank everybody for bringing out their Fightsticks!! previously we were strapped for sticks and lately people have been bringing their own sticks which is awesome! Special thanks to those of you that bring multiple sticks (steve and hidey come to mind)!
Oh i forgot to mention that several players wanted to get AH3 running as well!! so it looks like the ps2 retro setup will probably not be there next week…i’ll start putting together a plan and we’ll see how it goes:

Can I also suggest making a playlist of available games? Interest in other (non MvC/SSFIV/MK) games can change from week to week.
I always have BBCS, AH3, T6, SSFIV, MVC3, and MK with me.
I’m good to bring anything nowadays to casuals, whatever sticks and contraptions I have, Xbox 360(with MvC3, SSFIV and MK9) and/or my PS3(SSFIV and AH3).
Hey guys is there anyone on here that can dual mod and Xbox 360 MvC3 TE Stick? Please let me know who I could speak too and the cost of this.
