After figuring out how to play Hanamura, its been pretty fun. At the moment it’s a super tempo based map that plays out faster than Towers of Doom.
Vikings is first pick/ban material here. Everyone’s at mid so he can freely soak both lanes while pushing for a fort to get more shots per payload turn in. Can even move the payload at max speed with just the 3 vikings by themselves without any assistance while the other 4 team mates can stall the other payload. Rexxar counts as 2 heroes he’s ok in the map. Samuro clones dont count sadly, this would be the perfect map for him.
So my tips for the map is;
•you don't get immediately rewarded for stalling or winning fights over their payload, but you're pretty much "one action" ahead of the other team, because another one of their payload or yours would spawn. It'd force
them to either split their team (and maybe get rekt by opposing 4-5 man) or stay 1 point behind and full push one payload.
•Forts taken gives 1 extra shot per payload turn in. Keeps spawn sappers that work like Towers of Doom.
•Bunch of ways to approach the map, though as far as camps, the windows for getting them are very very specific and you'd need to clear them fast because objectives come around fast as well.
Think they might add more shots required to finish a core, alot of the games have been extremely fast paced once both teams figure it out, or something. The map isn’t perfect but i’m enjoying it.
There’s a couple occasions in a draft where you can punish the opposing team with last pick nova if they play into it, but with Anub being as strong as he is and no one stupid enough to draft double mage without banning him, she’s very niche when Zeratul exists. She’s pretty good on Warhead Junction as well.
QM Nova is another story entirely. She gets away with murder there due to the dice roll of the matchups you could get.
I mean, this pretty much applies to all stealthies, but she sucks against Genji and that’s what’s going to be in every QM for a while. Zeratul and Valeera are the better QM stealthies at the moment. It’ll rotate out though. It always does.
Did Valeera get nerfed to the point where she can’t really be played as hard anymore?
I wanna try using her since I got her at lv 1 and wouldn’t mind some loot boxes.
Valeera’s doing just fine. At the moment (In QM), Assassins and Mobility are king, so having a stun you can’t see coming is a big help.
None of the characters feel particularly vulnerable in QM at the moment. Cept supports, but they’re always kinda screwed in QM. Mages are certainly in the worst spot, but they’re mages. You can always rely on people standing in Jaina’s Blizzard even if they can move like Genji.
Hard CC and peeling are the go-tos. Point and Click abilities too. I played a crap ton of Butcher yesterday and never felt like I was completely screwed (which is saying something given how volatile he is) because of how Ruthless Onslaught laughs at mobility for defense
The only person I’d probably say is completely boned right now is Chromie…maybe Rexxar too.
Valeera isn’t very good atm, they nerfed her damage hard. Chromie and Rexxar are in a decent spot, good picks on certain maps and against certain drafts. Chromie absolutely kills Auriel.
True, but stealthies are always odd ducks when it comes to drafted, especially ‘meta’. The only reason Zera was so good for so long (and still is a threat) is because of VP
A opposing samuro was forced to solo lane with me as Cassia. He’d attempt to gank me and he’d walk away almost dead with her at 4/5ths hp full. Charged strikes at level 1 is such a hilarious talent, i’m sure at some point they’ll nerf it heavily.
A team can’t even stand anywhere near your own forts if cassia is chucking at it, its like kaelthas living bomb but it instantly explodes and it’s attached to a short ranged auto attack… that lasts for 8 seconds with like a 20 second cd. Mini archon lol. I want to see what the damage is like with some attack speed buffs.
