Dude, you can patch the game, play online and unlock these costumes like everyone else and then uninstall the game without deleting your save file.
Install the game, don’t patch and you get your cool UMvC3 back with your save file while keeping Swagneto, all the alt costumes, Herald skins and a useful Phoenix Wright.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t refusing the patch make it impossible to play online?
Also the hero-side booster (CHICO CC) is doing his thing right now. I’ve tried camping all the various permutations of lobby, and setting Y to turbo for 5 minutes at a time trying to join each type of lobby, and haven’t caught him yet. He’s gone up 1000 points in 40 minutes.

I know that you can’t play online but he said that he gave up H&H mode in order to keep playing with Swagneto, that clearly means that he would rather take offline Swagneto over H&H.
I just posted a way to keep enjoying online modes like H&H while actually unlocking costumes. You’re still able to uninstall the game WITHOUT ERASING your save file (which includes all of your legit unlocked costumes, H&H cards and your online ranking) so you can use Swagneto when playing offline.
Shuma Gorath, Jill and other purchased DLC content will be there when you re-install even if you don’t patch the game.
Keep having fun with H&H. 
I’m pretty sure that you don’t even have to uninstall the game on the 360; you just have to clear the hard drive’s system cache.

Scratch that, I just finished Jill Mission 10, so all 500 missions are done. I rememeber it being much worse in MvC3. So now all I need is the glitched title and the one I would get for getting the last HvH card that I need, which is serpent. So lets go Heralds!

Yeah I know I could do that but I don’t want to go through the trouble of installing patches and uninstalling the game over and over. I don’t need the costumes from HH anyway… I just liked crazy shit happening

As of this morning, It was 56% - 44% Heroes on PSN (isn’t it great when someone specifies the system?)
Looks like no serpent card this week. 
I’m pretty sure there’s a booster on XBL now. Dude went from 0 to 1500 points overnight when there’s nobody to play with.
