…Huh? I’m guessing this was a train-of-thought derail on your part and you just meant that you both enjoy stories and parrying though they’re not related. Nonetheless, I’m going to tease you about it with a little thought exercise.
Do stories need parrying? For example, would any given lightsaber fight in a Star Wars movie be better if one of the characters just randomly began stomping their foot forward and swinging their arm out in a horizontal blocking/deflecting motion to stop the energy blade? Would shoot-outs in Die Hard have been better if John McClane went all Evo Moment #37 on a barrage of MP5 bullets sent his way?
I suspect that most people on here will respond “YES. Not only YES, but YES and why the hell would this even be a ‘thought exercise’, FUND IT IMMEDIATELY”, but that is alright.
that’s my laziness with regards to typing proper and complete sentences on the Internet. lol. no, I mean that if the mode has a story like Brawl’s Subspace Emissary mode, it’ll be fun as it’s the first time in any Marvel game where you’d have the characters with legit teams and factions banding together to fight a greater evil on a cosmic scale. with the whole parrying mechanic added to the game in this particular mode, I meant that I’ll enjoy it even more because I love me some Third Strike.

Heh, it’s cool. I assure you, it was just good-natured teasing. I had just woken up and your sentence, in my still waking up haze, spawned the idea of “here is someone who needs parrying in their stories! …What would that even look like?” Then I started visualizing McClane going “Huh, huh, huh, huh, huh” as he stomped his foot forward over and over while making sideways karate-style deflecting motions with his forearm, knocking bullets aside in this fashion.
At that point, even though I realized this was just a sentence derailing into two separate thoughts, the idea had taken root! I promise you, no harm intended; the visual I got from it as I had just woken up (so I was parsing sentences in a strange way) was just too good not to share, that’s all.
After watching the trailer for Heroes and Heralds… man they executed the trailer perfectly, especially w/ how they presented Parrying at the end as a surprise. Got the crowd going wild!
Can we get a story mode with this =]

Does anyone else think it’s interesting that Firebrand is shown as a “Hero”? That’s pretty cool I think.
This mode is too cool. Even if I don’t play it all that much, it’s gonna be fun to seek out all dem cards. I just hope achievements are added to the game through the DLC that relates to this mode, or at least winning in certain ways would win titles or something. Do we know if this mode is playable online yet?
I wonder what kind of broken nightmare I can turn Phoenix into?
I’m pretty sure the trailer shows online matches - at least the characters have titles under their health bars. Seems to have some kind of “dominance system” in which faction is winning the most.

isnt team of one just that you get to choose one character who is powered up or something? not being able to have 3 of the same character?
no doubt there will be modes for both though anyway.
i can see i will be more into the card collecting aspect of this rather than the actual matches. cant see i will be going online with this mode often.
