I remember at a theme tournament (I think the rule was everyone had to have the same team symbol, which was gay, but whatever) like two years ago, some guy took that Superman, threw Fortitude, and a couple of other feats on him, and beasted on everyone at the tournament, won the tournament and I don’t think he took more than two or three clicks of damage the entire time. And he was going up against some brutal teams.
This was, though, before Hypersonic Speed got neutered.

this superman is legit, prime. they were going to announce a new tourney standard according to hcrealms, but i doubt that will happen now, though this guy is 318 points and can be obtained in packs

Jesus. I’ve never seen a character that high aside from Sent/Galactus/Sinestro. But none of them were tournament viable so they don’t count imo.
Only other person who was tourney able I’ve seen that high was like 210? I can’t remember what click it was.
Once I/others who are new to heroclix online get use to it and get better (it can be a weird transition for some people.) we should try to hold bi-weekly online tournaments or something.
Only reason I say bi-weekly is cause of anyone who has been to a tourney or even played heroclix knows matches can take forever to play out. So. I’m keeping that in mind. Plus it lets people plan for it more in advanced.
This is all still in beta though, obviously.

Yeah, I’ve been futzing around with it alittle. I made my old NC+Support Team. I’d try to remake my old shield team, but there are so many new/better shields out I said fuck it.

parallax was about 270, but he wasn’t very good. DC Ares was about the same as well, and I really liked him. There are a couple others up there too. The 2 supermen from crisis were really good. I don’t recall what the expensive normal one did, but the cheaper KC supes had two item super strength and charge + flurry. 14 clicks of damage in one damn turn. I hated him. He wrecked my sentinel :mad:
There was another team I ran into quite a bit that I didn’t see mentioned. Rookie invisible girl, possibly with a group transporter, and a bunch of heavy hitting range troops. 37 points for 18 def, defend and stealth. Too damn good backing people up, especially before feats.
I used to play heroclix every week for about two years, but I haven’t played a match in about 8 months. I just don’t like the groups that play where I live now. I would run indy in every unrestricted weekly they held, but I didn’t win very often with them. I might check out this online version, I could go for playing again.
You have to remember, I stopped playing pretty much right after Critical Mass came out.
At the time the only Huge clix were galactus/sinestro/sentinel.
yeah there has been crazy power creep since then. I am amazed at the things I’m seeing in the new DC set. My indy characters are even more outclassed now.
something else people have overlooked. That batman alpha set that came out could still be played with normal rules, and it had some interesting figures, even if no new models. The new Talia is 20 points and on her second click she has 10 attack, flurry and blades/claws. Couple lucky rolls and you’ve just killed off someone 10x your points in one turn.
talia + the new colossus’ fastball special = rape
but yeah… the power creep makes a shitload of the older figures unplayable. a few figures (like nightcrawler) can still stand the test of time, but nowadays if a figure starts off with anything less than 17 defense, it’s shit.

I didn’t feel like making another Heroclix thread, so I’ll just bump this one. Has anyone heard anything about the Hammer of Thor release? I heard it was going to happen around August, but that doesn’t sound right.
Considering Topps dropped them, Hammer of Thor will be a while. Pinata games is working in conjunction with another company currently to buy the Heroclix brand, until that time, the game is dead. Hammer of Thor was pretty much done and ready to ship out, so I won’t expect it to be a long wait once the company confirms that they bought the brand.
Kinda pisses me off as I got my first Chase figure in Arkham, Lamp post Batman, and his value plummeted like a week later. Also they didn’t take my brick figure stuff in despite saying they will, so I lost out on Joker. Oh, and then I lost my job, so yeah that was a shitty month all and all.
I played a game a couple of weeks ago, friendly match, though I used an unfriendly Bat-family team. Crises Nightwing, Crises Robin (Emo/Bobblehead), One of the tiny set Batman’s (Running shot one), and Crises Batgirl, I believe was the whole team. We did a team game, My Bat’s with the X-men fighting two Sinister Syndicate teams. After shutting down Rhino’s Invul with outwit from Robin, I had Bats running shot him for 3 and drop that Charge I was scared of. From there on it was easy to grab and sit on the objectives. Nightwing with perma stealth and a 19 Defense at range and hand to hand is terrifying, despite the fact that he can’t deal the pain very well. By the end of the game we had all three objectives and beat down more crappy Spidey villains than I thought was possible. Only person I lost was Batgirl, from BoBTB Venom rolling Double 6’s and beating her down.
HoT looks good, I saw the list of all the figures, seems like a solid if odd set.
Just a heads up, The new set has been released. I was in the comic book shop and randomly figured i look in the Heroclixs section for old times sakes and BAM!New clix boxes!
So i bought a brick…even tho i can’t really afford it. :sad:
