here are some ‘designs’ for what i would call my ‘magnum opus’.

i’ve always wanted to read a manga based on either street fighter or KoF. street fighter we already got, with the awesome alpha series, sakura ganbaru, and ryu final. but nothing ever came of KoF.

so here are my designs of a fan manga, i think they’re called doujinshi, ryu (i already posted this already on one of my earlier threads, but i tweaked him a bit), ken, terry, guy, cody, kim, and what i think mel would look like in his early teens. basically it’s a cross over manga focusing on mel, rock howard, kim jae hoon, kim dong hwan, with cameos from both universes. on one end, i’m excited about this. on the other, kinda not looking forward to it. only because i’m never consistent with my art, all the work that’s gonna be put into this, especially with the backgrounds, speed lines and all that other good stuff that goes into manga.

if any of you may remember, i already posted pics of terry about to face off with kyo. that’s still apart of the fan manga, but now i wanted to expand on the story.

VERY VERY rough sketches and design, but i didn’t want to stray too far from what’s already been established, save for mel.

so here are my drawings of iconic characters for my cross over manga.

excuse the poor quality. i have no scanner and took these with a digicam. so there is some light reflection.

comments and critiques are welcome.

Nicely drawn faces. I’d say keep going. Hope to see more full figured stuff and more characters posed.

i only re-posted the ryu drawing. the others are new. besides, i can’t even find the old thread anymore.

def improved! looks like the art from the SF4 anime

well these do look pretty sweet.
i dont know much about doing things properly but i think if there was something to improve it would be to make the lines thinner,cleaner or less sketchy.

i think he’s fiddling with line weight. i’d really like to see one of these bad boys inked.
ken, terry and guy’s faces might need a little more tweaking so i don’t mistake one of them for the other.
good stuff though!

Those are pretty good man.

I myself prefer the rough sketch look and I think you should keep the style for the manga, if it’d be easier.

those sketches are more of a guide for me when i do start crackin on it. and i do intend to use the sketchy look for the manga. mostly because it takes a lot of work to ink them and to clean them up. the sketchy lines and messiness for the manga won’t be on the level of what’s presented here of course. it’ll be much cleaner, but as for inking, i don’t think i’ll be doing that.

in order for the panels to truly come alive, you need a LOT of detail. and i’m not good at drawing backgrounds, building, machines and so forth. so i’m gonna try to keep everything simple.

Great line work! So are you going to make a comic book out of these designs? Seems like an interesting style.

yup, that’s the main idea. hopefully i can show a few completed pages soon.

here is my ryu character study. first this is a new version of ryu. it’s more simple and i personally like it better.
