So I’m not very good at this game, so this may be a dumb question, but can Shuma’s laser OTG after a :s:, j.:m:, j.:m:, j.:h:, DJ, j.:m:, j.:h:, TJ, j.:m:, :qcb::m:, :qcb::m:, :qcf::2p:? I don’t know if I can’t get it because I have bad tech skill (I’m a smash bros Brawl player after all XD ) or because you can’t actually do it.

I was looking to do something kind of like combo I in the guide, but add an OTG, :m:, :h:, Morrigan assist (Dark Harmonizer), :dp::2p:, j.:m:, j.:m:, j.:h:, DJ, j.:m:, j.:h:, TJ, j.:m:, :qcf::2p: then cancel into Morrigan’s level 1 or 3, depending on my bars.

Basically, my question is whether or not that’s actually possible. I can’t seem to get the assist to come out in time for me to OTG.

Yessir, I use Shuma’s OTG assist. It can be done, but you have to alter the air combo. If you use all 3 of your jumps, Joe takes too long to fall to the ground, and Shuma won’t come out in time. Instead do:

Launch, j.:m:, j.:m:, j.:h:, Double Jump, j.:m:, j.:h:, :qcb:+:m:, Airdash, j.:h:, j.:s:

Joe will fall to the ground much faster, and Shuma will be able to OTG into Viewtiful Godhand or what have you.

What are some situations you guys like to call Tron in? I usually do an IAD Voomerang, dash, s.:l:+:a1:, or if I go for a cross up I’ll call Tron at the same time, or just as I’m jumping.

Yeah that’s pretty much how I call Tron, any time I’m in their face I’m slappin that Tron button. I think one of the things that makes her assist so gdlk is its defensive uses, too. If you drop the first part of your combo, Tron’s there to blast their punish for free. If the opponent is trying to break up their blockstrings to punish your pushblock attempt, here comes Tron. And, of course, if you get pushblocked, Tron doesn’t. She usually locks them down long enough for you to get back in and keep the pressure going. I generally shy away from top tier characters, but in a game like this I have no problem using an assist that is so obviously amazing.

Question: In terms of usefulness, what would be better an OTG assist, or a great support assist like Tron?
Right now I’m trying really hard to make Shuma Gorath work with my team, but he is obviously nowhere near my Morrigan or Joe. Now I don’t know whether to keep him because his assist is pretty good and OTGs, but just try to get better at him, or go to Tron or Wolverine, who have good assists and whom I’m much better at playing.

I use Wesker i like him he can be good on point has good health and if timed right you can get some really high damage assist with joe. The samurai edge is a low assist and if you pratice the timing for the air dash s it becomes unblockable with a low hit and a high hit. I think that you would need a good cover assist for him to get in like sent or doom, some one with a decent projectile.

Ideally, every single Joe main should have Wesker and Tron on their team, but I only have Tron (Arthur is my third). Then again, I feel like every character becomes really powerful with a low hitting, OTG assist and an invincible pressure assist.

Ive been working on my DP to air heavy link combos. but i havent mastered it yet, so in serious matches im sticking to regular ground string -> air joe combos. But I have a question.

Air S, cr. M, H, cr H, S, air MMH, L air joe, H, dj MMH, L air joe, H, tj MH, H air joe, Drop kick, desperado.

this is my basic bnb combo that ive been using, along with small situational variations.

My question tho, is that whenever I do the above combo, the desperado will not come out, I tried it at least a dozen times and made very sure i was inputting the super correctly. does joe have some kind of programmed limit to how many specials/supers he can do in the air? Like the ‘you only get two combined mid air jumps/airdashes’ rule?

max 3 specials or supers total in the air.

So you can’t do 3 RHKs in the air or else you will be unable to Air Joe or Desperado

wow, thats hella annoying. But at least now that I know I wont drop combos any more.

and supplementary question. about a related situation that happened to me yesterday.
say youre fighting a sentinel. and he shoots HSF at you, and you desperado, to try and avoid the drones, but the gun shot misses, and the sent HSFs again, and you dont want to fall into the drones so you desperado again in midair.

If I had done 2 RHKs before that situation happened, that means the second desperado at the end wouldnt have come out?

and since I feel like I should be contributing instead of just asking questions all the time, Ill give you guys a bit of random general knowledge that you might have known already.

Desperado to my knowledge beats (not trades but flat out eats, and over powers) every projectile/super projectile in the game to my knowledge except for phoenix firebird super(which you trade with). ive beaten mags tempest, trons lunch rush gun shot, 6 of dark phoenixs tracking balls, dorms tracking super, everything ammy can do, and a few other things with it. I havent tested it against beams like ryu or akuma tho, but it would only trade at worst.

also, 1 voomerang can over power all ~7 shots of ammys cold star and continue to hit her. so joe out camps her with the greatest of ease.

but I can’t seem to get the airdash to come out early enough for the following j. :h: to hit. When I try to airdash earlier, I end up falling with a J. :H:. Does this airdash have to be done with a Kara cancel (Hope I have that right? I get all my terms from the guide XD )? Am I just not doing the RHK fast enough? HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!
