God bless, been wondering if he could, glad to finally have confirmation. Yea I figure getting in will be kinda difficult with him, with his terrible walk speed, lack of a horizontal dive kick, and horrid range on his normal attacks. But he looks like if he gets in he wrecks shop so that works fine for me being a cammy/zangief player and all.
@Shintaru: Well this is all speculation but I see no reason why not, he followed up the uppercut with some other attacks in the vid so I see no reason why he wouldn’t be able to follow up with air joe. Now all I wonder is if his dive kick counts as an overhead, I doubt it since you can tk it but hey this is marvel, wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if it was.
Yeah uppercutting into air Joe then launcher works, i was gonna mention that, same with just doing air Joe in general and launching after it. J.E/C is so godlike, as well as his divekick.
Charging voomerang is pretty good and it hits really weird.
The guy I was playing didn’t know how to advance guard it I guess, like it hits irregularly if you stay still and the Voomerang was like inside his character it was pretty weird but wasn’t sure if you could get out of it or not. I’ll figure it out Friday I’ll play again then.
I was mostly using Chun’s assist + an otg assist/dante’s aa it was working pretty well! I love chunli’s assist you can go for crossups with joe’s e and if chun hits you can just launcher and get your air combo its pretty cool.
X-factor stuff with Joe IDK, didn’t really try anything, I usually used the x-factor with Chun.
His floaty jumps are weird, especially when I ended my air combos with E they’d slam to the ground but i would still be in the air for like literally 3 seconds, didn’t know what that was about, i just stuck to airjoe or using his cannon super (shit is pretty good now, and if you hit assists with it lmao so much damage, they still keep their red bar when they tagged in though… didn’t know that) But yeah what do I there.
His AA assist is decent
and thanks whoever posted the thing about mach fist going through shit like Ryu’s hadoken super, its useful.
So what are people presently thinking in terms of teams for Joe. I have to admit that he didn’t really appeal to me at first (I don’t usually dig purely rushdown characters), but I’ve been watching his development a bit and it’s gotten me interested. I think his moves are quirky/unique enough that a team could really be built around them.
In general (and I’m not expert), I had a few thoughts.
One of the big guys (Thor, Hulk, Sentinel) could be cool, since all three have good assists that cover a lot of screen space, making it easy for little Joe to sneak in, but hard to see what he’s doing in all the clutter. Plus the big, slow dudes would have a field day DHC’ing in off Joe’s slow hyper.
Both Ammy and Trish seem to bring something to any team, and they’d have good DHCs and assist synergy with Joe.
Dormammu might be really interesting with Joe, since I heard Joe’s AAA is really good. (right?) However, I’m also hearing that Dorm kind of sucks as an assist, so maybe not.
Lastly, I wondered about Ryu. I was thinking that between the versatility of Six Cannon and Shinkuu Hadoken, you’d have a ready-made DHC almost no matter what you were doing. Maybe even add a meter-building assist in there.
Do you guys think we should have some sort of online thread, like for people to meet up online and play each other via PSN or XBL? I was thinking about starting it but I don’t know if it would be needed or not.
