Henshin A Go Go, Baby! Viewtiful Joe Thread

Yah, like Houyokusen, or however you spell that.

this would probably be my favorite thing ever. But does he still have his lvl 3 from TvC in which he puts on the visor for the animation?

DAT INVUL!

Just saying.

Mach Speed did pretty poor damage in TvC but it looks like they buffed the damage to a reasonable level.

I really do want a drop visor taunt… where do I submit this request?

It’s probably a bit late, but you could try the Unity suggestion box.

Why is it only worth doing on block? Is RHK safe on block? I’ll do my best to find out which super does more damage.

Yeah, you can jump afterwards, to follow up. Personally thats why I thought it was weak in TvC, but the damage appears to be buffed for MvC3. :wgrin:

Watched a lot of the NYCC and Fight Club vids and noticed that the use of Joe is SORELY LACKING! What’s the deal? Anyone know where I can watch some new vids of him to see how he looks?

More like VJoe is barely played and even in the devs’ gameplay videos people suck it up. :stuck_out_tongue:

Quoting again so I can ask you a question. What are the inputs for his supers? Are they the same as they were from TvC? (See Below)
:qcf:+:snka::snka: = Six-Machine
:dp:+:snka::snka: = Mach Speed
??? = Godhand

Yep, exactly the same.
Godhand seemed to be HCB + 2 buttons.

Also, something else I’d like to ask you to try if possible.
I saw someone do Groovy Uppercut >Groovy Uppercut so was wondering if you can follow on the second one with Air Joe or something (I was too busy messing around with his other stuff.)

On block it’s better to do A/B RHK afterwards for safeness (his C version travels at the same arc as the B version, but looks less safe.)

I hope V.Joe isn’t one of the characters that got skipped out on in Level 3 Hyper assignments.

Even if it was Viewtiful Forever again I wouldn’t mind. I digged that slow-mo dodging sequence.

Ok, so GU --> GU --> mash attack. When you were playing did you ever try attacking after a second GU? Or do you just think it might be Special/Super cancelable? Either way, I’ll give it a shot. if you can do Air Joe afterwards, you probably have some monster combo setups with assists. O.o

So excited.

I do hope Joe retains his level 3 from TvC. It was actually one of the better lv3’s in the game, being the 2nd most powerful lv 3 that could be followed up with a proper air combo after it hit. (the other being Batsu, and that was only in the corner with certain partners)

Fuck that. The cinema makes his level 3 the best evar.

I need to find my GIF I made for it. Fucking hilarious.

So a few quick notes about Viewtiful from my playing:
-He seems to have less life now then he did in TvC.
-Groovy Upper assist goes almost full screen height.
-His airdash seems to be able to take him near full screen in length.
-After a successful aerial combo sending my opponent into the ground, I double jumped purely on accident. I floated off screen for quite some time. I thought that if you can keep track of where you are, you could potentially have some drop-down shenanigans.
-Taunts weren’t in.
-I’m hoping I messed up, but A -> B -> C -> E didn’t seem to work for me. I’m thinking maybe I needed to do Down+C instead to get the forward momentum from the slide.
-Six Machine isn’t good for DHCing into if you have a super before it that does a lot of hits, like Dante’s Guns; but his pretty good if the super prior didn’t have many.
-He didn’t seem like a very good assist character, but I had very limited time with the game, and there weren’t a lot of people there who had the experience to make him good.

a few questions if you don’t mind.

Was the ABCE not working because you were out of range, or were they able to block the Exchange?

Also, it doesn’t have the little arrows like it did in previous games?

Because I was out of range, it seemed.

I’m afraid I don’t understand your second question…

I presently don’t have access to my Xbox or TV (Huge pile of boxes, long story), but my memory says that before when people were offscreen (usually below not above admittedly) there was an arrow onscreen that pointed to them and says ‘player 1’ or ‘player 2’ or something. Am I high/hallucinating?

Edit: And yeah I saw a lot of dropped combos in the various videos from stubby little arms, if yer gonna be up a while it might be worth looking through the footage on youtube to see how they make the launcher hit. My memory again says the slide was used alot, but not always…

You’re gonna wanna slide, though in TvC it had enough range so you didn’t need a boost. Weird.

Oh! The character finder arrows. If you super jump, they’re still there, but if the screen is focused on the character on the ground, there weren’t any for the character s in the air.
