Finally got my copy of KOF 2002 UM TE and now my swap magic wont work. Its worked before a lot. I havnt played on it in a while and all the sudden it wont boot. It says not a valid ps2 disc. It is a slimline. any suggestions?

Your PS2 sensors still modded(Don’t remember if you need to if you got swapmagic)? Also he isn’t asking how to pirate game’s he’s asking why his swapmagic disk won’t be picked up on swap magic is completely legal using it for illegal purposes is a different story
FreeMCBoot will still run on almost every slimline, as long as it wasn’t the final revision of ps2s (which there weren’t many made of).
FreeMCBoot with ESR is great, especially for games like Melty Blood (I paid an arm and a leg for Acress Again, I kinda want it to be in the best condition possible.) and other JPS2 games I’ve picked up

what do you suggest with free mcboot? what do i need? my swap magic has worked before without sensors blocked is blocking them neccesary?
No it isn’t, I just didn’t remember if you had to block them or not, It’s been a while since i messed with it.
Which version of the Swap Magic are you using? There are the rare games that don’t work with Swap Magic…the most prominent example I know of is Rumble Fish. I wonder if the re-release of KOF 2002 is another game that won’t work out of the box.
It could also be your PS2? Have you tried booting other import titles using Swap Magic?
ESR only works with games that are patched with ESR.
But you own the game, so its fine for you to make a backup copy. Just so long as you do not distribute
anyways the issue is that its probably one of those rare games that just dont like to work with swapmagic
I patched melty blood with the esr patcher v.24 and it still wont run on my freemcboot 1.8 any ideas?
Do you have ESRboot installed with it? ESR and FreeMCBoot are two different projects.
I have mine on HDloader it runs like butter. With Swap magic , I thought you had to cover up the sensors…
Have you switched ps2’s since the last timevyiu used it? If so that could also be the problem…
If I understand correctly, Swap Magic is not booting at all. Try it on another PS2. It shouldn’t matter if it’s slim or not, as Swap Magic is in every sense a valid PS2 game.
