I haven’t played in ages, and if I remember Kyokuji used to be one of the few people who could beat me down back when A3 was all the rage on MAME before GGPO and 3S, so his advice is probably better, but I’ll tell what little I remember since I had a decent Adon.
This is all for X-ism by the way, I personally prefer it on Adon.
You can combo cr. lp strings into Jaguar Knee, learn to do it since you can stick it out all the time and it’s free damage if it lands. Same goes for his super. Most common combo I used was jump in Mp, cr. lp x 3(maybe 2?), fierce Jaguar Knee or Super.
If you land a knee in the corner follow it up with fierce jaguar knee or an air grab as they recover if you can get the timing right. You can also follow the kick version of his super up with knees or an air grab in the corner.
I can’t remember if this is true, but it may be possible to follow light jaguar knees with an air grab anywhere, but the timing might be prohibitively strict. I may be misremembering this since it’s been about 2 years since I played A3. It may only be when it’s used as an anti-air.
If you ever use X, always use the kick version of his super for damage when it lands, punch version otherwise since it’s safe on block and does good chip.
His air axe-kicks in X-Ism are amazing and you should abuse them all the time. They can punish, trade, and bait all kinds of things that you wouldn’t immediately think of. Jump and do a quick LK axe kick while holding back to bait anti airs if your opponent is jumpy, since it will move you out of range; it will trade with a lot of stuff, too.
Jaguar tooth can either be an asset or a liability depending on how you use it. It can be used for random pressure, baits, and to punish projectile happy players (HK axe kick can also be used to punish fireballs). I don’t really have any advice on it, you just have to get a feel for when you have your opponent mindfucked enough that throwing out a fierce tooth is a good idea.
Standing HK is a good poke, use it occasionally. Adon’s sweep is excellent.
Learn to move around like a lemur on crack, seriously. I can’t think of any other character who can match X-Adon’s mobility, you can basically ignore zoning since you can control your jump so well. Not sure how this applies to other isms.
I should probably buy a new controller and play some before giving advice, but whenever I check GGPO’s A3 room it’s empty as hell. This was probably all shitty advice, but it works against average and even good players.
