There’s no poll feature because it’s expensive, so we settle for this. Vote with those letters and comment if needs be. Will tally the votes on the 26th because these votes are more important than DBZ.

A - New tiered Premium memberships (See Patreon payment model). Each tier comes with its own special rank/badge/perks so we can subconsciously compare dicksizes AND save the planet.

B - Clean Up SRK’s forums. Trim the fat and bring it back to basics and essentials.

C - Do our own internal crowdfunding to foot the annual bill.

D - Transfer forum ownership / stewardship to other(s) who care enough.

E - Allow donations.

F - 2 or more of the above (specify if needs be).

G - Let SRK die… Even if you have to kill it.

What this group exercise requires to succeed is a certain level of transparency from the admins @MrWizard @inkblot in regards to the financial issue we are facing (e.g. provide cost estimates) and a willingness to work with the community to secure its future in whatever course works best.

(Like we don’t need sub forums for each character of each fighting game).

All of the above besides G closing the forums. Many moons ago I used to pay $24 a year to be a premium member but they got rid of that feature, this place has a big enough place in my heart that I’d continue to do so.

To think about it C and E are not mutually exclusive to each other.
They are both community lead funding activities.

We could also do stuff like sell merchandise down the road.

I used to pay premium and I’d come out the pockets again. Tbh though I do think if they go with a premium it should be mandatory. Low cost but mandatory in order to post or make threads. I’d easily pay $3-5 a month for that and if it’s mandatory more people will pay so no need to go with crazy stuff like $10 a month.

I’d be down to donate and/or subscribe. I don’t know enough to know how to clean up the forums, but there are others that probably so.

Has anyone actually got a real $ number of how much it costs to maintain the forums? So we know what we’re getting into.

First option. If the cost is the issue, doing a premium service would more than enough cover the server cost.

They are not disclosing the server cost and Wiz stated that premiums would need to be about $10/monthly to cover the costs.

Any option that involves directly paying Wiz will just end up being pocketed for the EVO McRib foundation. All proceeds will go to a starving Mr Wizard in Africa. Shutting down your beloved forum will be all for a good cause.

i would be willing to pay for premium again, even a few hundred bucks per year for the toppest tier. this place is important enough and worthy enough to me to preserve for future generations looking for family and community, also dick size epeen boost
