Help: Replasing the stock AgeTec stick and buttons for the dreamcast arcade stick

Okay so I’m pretty new to the whole ‘mod’ scene, I know a little soldering here and there, I’m getting better. Yet I haven’t really modded a stick before. Mainly because I never really needed to, I mean I did replace the buttons on my HRAP EX with Sanwa OBSF-30’s but that’s just simple plug in/out.

So down to business, I have three Agetec Dreamcast arcade sticks, and all the parts to mod them with. I’m just super scared to because I can’t find a FAQ or anything. I really want to mod these stick, but I really don’t wanna mess up in soldering and what not, so if anyone has a FAQ(one with pictures would be greatly appreciated) or something would be really nice.

Oh if there’s a thread like this one, just give me a link, I really didn’t feel like rummaging trough all the threads to find it, all I came across really were “how can I change my DC stick to ps3 lol.” threads.

Thanks again!

I think this will help you:

I’m waiting for my sanwa stick and buttons to do the same.

You don’t have to do any soldering. Just snip the wires close to the buttons and put QDs on them. You DO need to dremel a lot of the body though. Button surrounds need to be removed. The holes on the front plate need to be widened to 30mm. And the original joystick mounts and surround need to be sanded down and holes drilled to mount a Sanwa/Seimitsu. If you are keeping it DC the mod is really really easy. Only takes a few hours.

Can a normal Seimitsu LS-32 fit in the DC Agetec fit with the same modifications used to fit a Sanwa JLF? Looking at the mounting plates I don’t see why not, but I’m still new to this so I’m not sure about this at all of course.

Yes, it’s possible to mod the stick mounting area of the Agetec so you can mount either an LS-32-01 or a JLF and have both sticks at the correct height (23-24mm).

This is possible because the S-shaped mounting plate of the LS-32-01 and the flat mounting plate of the JLF have holes in common: you can see that by laying one on the other.

The original mounting area needs to be eliminated completely and a properly sized cutout must be made so the LS-32 plate can fit through it and be at the correct height. Here’s a few pics that show how I do this mod:

Thank you very much for these pictures and instructions. I’ll consider my options with regards to this.
