Doesn’t look like there’s a convenient solder point to connect “Home” to. Just take the right-contact (when looking at the front of the PCB, right-side-up), and follow that trace. If I’m not mistaken, all I see is that it goes to a via, and then on the other side directly to the chip. So you can solder to anywhere along that path.
Why would you need to connect U/D/L/R? If you’re dual-modding it, you won’t need to connect to those contacts anyways, and you’re better off connecting the stick directly to the XBO padhack.
Remember the rule of any common-ground multi-PCB mod (not just dual/tri/quad/etc-mods): Ground AND Vcc need to be connected together. I’m not entirely sure on the stock Wii-U PCB, as it might run on 3.3V rather than the usual 5V that USB connections provide. This might not work in your favor.
Thanks for the reply. I think it may be easier to drill a hole and install another button. Only way I would be able to comprehend this is if someone takes the pictures I uploaded and writes/marks them with what the solder points are. Thank you once again
like you said, drilling an external button (the much easier way)
or
(my personal preference) “re-creating” your own pseudo-PCB using some perf-board and some tact switches, and removing the stock PCB entirely.
This is how I did my SEs:
You could always get one of these buttons. It drops right in the TURBO circle (no need to drill)
That way you can keep the faceplate and just remove the Wii-U PCB.
I have different sizes but I’ll have to check where I got this particular one from, I’ll get back to you if you’re interested.
Update…I ordered the wrong ones thinking they were the same just different finish. The difference between the ones I ordered and the ones you linked is the size difference 12mm vs 16mm and already shipped since I chose one day shipping. Wonder if it’ll fit. What do you think poisonmar?
The TURBO button circle is exactly 13mm. But I did notice that the 13mm push buttons that I have are actually closer to 11mm (even though they are supposed to be 13mm), so yours might be smaller than 16mm. Otherwise, you might have to dremel it a bit to make it wider.
@poisonmar Did you drill your turbo panel to make it fit flush or was that stock on your SE? I’m trying to put one from a TE and it definitely won’t fit.
Also where do you get the carbon fiber decal and did you just spray paint the rest of the base? I’m not trying to copy (too much lol) but I just have a spare SE lying around and I’m tired of looking at it.
Hmm, that fiber wrap… I got the old dreamcast agetec that I went too fast n hard with the dremel and it melted some of that coating and it looks nasty. This would be a nice fit.
If anyone needs the PCB schematics for the wii u fightstick let me know and I’ll be more than happy to send them to you. I was able to figure it out by using a multimeter. Made the process a 100 times easier.
