Help... new, original TE stick not working

Hi,

This is a bit of an odd one but its now officially annoying me.

I have been buying sticks for a while but have not actually used them in any serious way. Some of them I haven’t even opened - they look nice in the box

However, I tried to a couple of my sticks today and got a shock. My Chun Li TE-S stick is great and plays well, my HRAP v3 sticks are all cool, but when I plugged in my original MadCatz TE stick (the first TE stick for SFIV) I found that it doesn’t want to work.

My PS3 just ignored it.

So I plugged it into my Linux dev box and found that the OS identified it as a mad catz stick but thats as far as it goes. There doesn’t seem to be any power getting to the stick. I tried to configure the turbo buttons to see if I could get any lights to flash but got nothing.

I would really like to use this stick as it feels quite comfortable, but it steadfastly refuses to play.

Anybody remember anything similar happening to their classic TE stick back when they were released?

I hate to think I may have to mod it just to get it to work :frowning:

Thanks.

Just a quick update.

I tried to use it all last night and couldn’t get the PS3 to recognise it. I think its dead because none of my other sticks have the same issue.

Anybody care to confirm for me that if they plug in the old TE stick into the PS3 that some of the leds on the top panel are supposed to light up?

Mine do nothing and I cannot get any response from the stick. Looks like I may have to mod it to get it to work :frowning:

Cheers.

Well what can I say but a big thank you to Mad Catz in the UK for being tip top gents and replacing my broken and hardly used SFIV TE Round One stick with a brand new Round Two stick. It came in the post today after them having my old stick for 3 weeks and the first thing I did was plug it in to test it - it worked fine.

I doff my cap to Mad Catz in the UK. They did the honourable thing and helped me out. I can’t praise them highly enough.
