Help me play like this (Ken)

cool dudes all over this thread.

Why is this guy flagging my posts? The video Deemo posted is legit. Just because I’m not saying the things that you want to hear, doesn’t mean I’m hating on you.

Constructive criticism.

Man, that was like 99% of every 3SOE match I’ve ever had.

Every time I let a whiff sweep go unpunished online I smack my head against the wall.

this thread was fucking hilarious
For some other general things to note and get you towards understanding to be a better player.

There’s no reason to want to be exactly like any good player, you know? CROYD told me a cool thing that had something to do with this. “I wouldn’t want to train anybody to be just as good as me, I want to train someone to be better than me, you know?”

[ Off Topic note and explanation background on that quote: That sounds like I was “asking for some pro tips,” but I swear I wasn’t. I said very few things to CRoyd here and he brought it up in regards to someone, maybe even CRoyd himself brought up Vinny Ken, that guy’s sick, he plays the right way - Mopreme is Sick I love that guy, wish he was here to talk to you about Ryu. ]

Because of course, you just end up copying setups or thinking they only do one thing in every situation and you don’t learn the reasons behind decisions, just emulating stuff and thinking that’s all it is right?

I don’t think that’s what you were going for of course with, “I think I got beat bad, can I play as good as this guy some day?”

This topic needs to be far away from the one we have here on “5Star Ken teaches 3rd Strike…” but do take a look in there for concepts to think, okay don’t worry about training to be able to beat one player. Get better for yourself so you don’t get beat by stupid stuff and so you can handle a whole bunch of situations. Get to the point where its not like: “They beat me” but you lost to yourself.

Even at the basic level here. You need to think, man I played bad and got read easily and taken care of. I need to get better at lots of things so I get to the point where this Ken is a nobody. then you look back on this replay and laugh too right?

Starting out so far you said you’re talking to Japanese people, that sorta helps!
You guys actually understood what he said?

I always do. that one Hugo player on the other hand is incomprehensible to me.

Louis doesn’t understand but 10% of what anybody says

Running that autotroll.exe

don’t make me go get that shawnmichaels fellatio gif, because I will! and I know you know what I’m talking about!!

You very much enjoyed this gif “awesomesauce” cheating on “3s forum, the good game”

with OTT MArvel vs d3rpp waifu witch ninjas… more like bitch niggas.

I should’ve made the same topic combined for you and Dander and open it with the

Homer Simpson… “Oooh!” om nom nom

STOP IT - I made you your own cake to ruin right over there!

Because you poisoned our Dander with some Kat Williams hater hater hater unfunny stuff probably. So you need to chill/retire/after you go out in a blaze of rage onstage too.

“Well if it isn’t my friend random youtube, with his buddy no incentive to click!”

I would recommend you play the game more and practice blocking. I don’t think anyone can tell you what you did wrong you must learn what you’re doing wrong by playing the game. I would just say be more cautions with using moves within six to seven foot distance from your opponent because that is the “blow up range”, just think of it as the danger zone because at that distance an opponent can land an attack from the ground/air/superjump cross over and a lot more. Don’t throw a normal move out at that distance unless you’re certain the character will recover in time to be able to defend.

Thanks for the advice to those who actually gave tips on how to think about the matches and specific Ken stuff. I’ll post some recent games here soon, but I’ve been busy with mid-terms and haven’t had much time to play. I really appreciate the people here that are nice enough to help out another player ^_^
