Crouch Strong beats buttslam and none of the Juris stored RH.Fireball to beat the jump ins. It’s a difficult match but it’s not as bad as people think it is.
I personally believe that regardless of who you may end up fight in street fighter online or locally, you have a fair chance of winning. That said, I do understand that each character in this game has their bad match-ups, and this is one of Juri’s. But if you are patient, and are good at reading your opponent, you will be fine. I’m not the type to run away from a challenge, but there is something to say for someone who is smart enough to realize their character’s fault in match-up such as this. Juri can use her mk.Fuhajin to try and keep a Honda at a distance, but one good read and an EX Headbutt would put all of that hard work of yours to shame. Regardless of how good one tool is in a match-up, you may have to use the slightly subpar moves in your arsenal just to mix-up. So throwing out a well-timed far st.HK into a Honda bent one footsies’ face isn’t quite a bad idea. It might get into their head and make them think “Oh, this guy has better footsies than me, maybe I’ll throw out a Headbutt when he tries next time” but next time you neutral jump HK instead. Just some simple things like this can make a huge difference. I personally would see how well I do, in the first match, and either change my character, or stick with Juri according to how well I did, or if I won or not. I always use Evil Ryu in match-ups that I know Juri can’t win, so if I feel that way against a Honda, I’ll switch. But one more thing, match-up chart and tier-list are just numbers and opinions, you can always do better than how others say you will.
I can’t believe anyone is saying it’s Juri’s favor. It’s a bad matchup. That’s it. It’s not T.Hawk Blanka bad or anything but it definitely not our favor. Just on the difference in headbutt chip to fireball chip we have an uphill battle. Then you get into barely punishable headbutts and an inability to really open him and it’s bad. I wouldn’t go 7-3 but you really need to play ones that don’t do random headbutts if you think it’s our favor. I’ve never tested it but I THINK he gets a sure headbutt if he has charge and you try to store closer than half screen away.
Yep, so you can’t always rely on your fireballs to win the match for you. You gotta at least try your normals.
yo, just because some dumbasses say that it’s a good match-up, doesn’t mean you stop helping those who are an your side
^lol @ the rape art.
XD

I too probably won’t pick Juri for this matchup – as I would probably pick Honda against Juri =P It’s not unwinable, probably 4-6 in Honda’s favor.
4-6 is not unwinable but if you can counterpick – why not?
Still think those videos are not very revelant, and Juri has an advantage over Honda.
BUT I can give you a point : Honda is way simplier to play than Juri, has a learning curve way quicker. This matchup is all about that IMHO, a simple Honda player can deal rough time to a good Juri’s one, with simple tools :
_Doskoi
_buttslam
_jump LP/HP
_st.HK
_hundred hands FADC oicho.
Thoses moves (for example) are 3 days Honda’s tools, and are a pain to handle. But if you manage your AAs, vary your rythm for not being predictable, and apply a good range game, it’s yours.
(-_-)
And people call me a troll?
Really? Seriously?
Juri vs Honda
advantage Juri???
Really?
Seriously?
Even I never went this far.
Even I drew a line somewhere.
Even I knew better than this.

Well you messed up the Juri Art thread with unfunny memes, so it was deserved
Huh? What do you mean? I’ve never posted in the Juri art thread, you must be mistaking me for someone else.
Why, are we getting all of topic? Has anybody got some more tips for us Juris against Hondas? I mean if any of you guys know a Honda, you could always ask for some matches, and you could tell us if some of our tips helped in the match-up. Personally though, I slightly believe that Juri’s U1 is better in this match-up. It is a good pressure tool, especially when you know how to manipulate your strings. I know it is possible to catch a Honda’s Headbutt with U2, but that is way to reaction reliant to be consistently viable. If you guys can manage some practice matches, tell us which Ultra worked best for you and how you used it in the match-up. Thanks.
1min50 : how not to play the matchup
4min30 : how to play the matchup (and how to throw a round by failing a super, nice one !)
This video is definitely the reality about this matchup, and argue so well everything I told in my last posts. Play like Younashi.
Good find with the matches!
In most matchups, Juri should play a zoning game. Many Juris I’ve seen think they are cammy/viper.
yeah this thread got derailed a bit, but thanks for help guys. on most match up charts that I’ve seen it says its a 4-6 mu for juri.

Yeah they definitively think Juri is a rushdown character. Maybe with FSE activated, in the corner or against Dhalsim OK. But every other times, I think she deserves to be played zoning, using fuhajin to deal damage or to put opponent into blockstun and find some damages. That’s why I like Younashi so much, he has some lacks but he definitively plays the good way.
