Vs salty Sagat: One thing I noticed was at the end of Round 1, it looked like you may have been trying to build ultra to level 2 or maybe just ex meter, when (I think) you had enough of a life lead to U1 his ars for the win, but you wound up losing the round. He was throwing out lots of fireballs, that may have been punishable. (I just started using u1 so not 100% sure)
Thanks for the add but I might end up changing when I get a chance to actually review how good he was. Also just remember that my analysis is just based off my opinion folks. My skills are not up there yet but I am working on it.
One thing I do want to say though is that the gief match up has changed. st rh is no longer enough to win this match up at least imo mainly due to spd’s new range. Will review probably starting tonight if i am lucky. Maybe we can figure something out with the gief match up.
Nah not trying to build anything, I was actually trying my baiting jag revolver I like to do but the fireballs were coming quicker than I expected, I don’t remember them being that fast lol. I also tried to ultra his jump in at the end of round1 but it failed badly lol.
It’s fine, i’ll upload untill you get bored of seeing him or you don’t wish to see him anymore for whatever reason. Well him and hawk are my worst, both below 50% wins according to my stats on player record. So any help will be good help lol
Against that sagay you let him have too much say so when he did not have meter. Adon can mosey on in pretty quickly against him then also mans would not stop pressing buttons a little bit of far standing fierce would have ate him up
Now against geif that matchup is retarded in my personal opinion but hey w/e. What i’ll usually do is hard kick my way to victory and try to keep geif on his toes with dash in grabs and sweeps usually they get annoyed and try to green hand which can be punished this matchup is basically high risk low reward but if you keep some solid wits about ya you should come out fine.
Hawk… I condition him at first with the usual hard kick game then I’ll rush him down and jump back out when its convenient for me also please dont try and corner yourself because in the midst of rushing down that can happen often but yo if ya on xbl I would be happy to play ya a few.
Now lets go with another session of Tiger Revolver!
Disclaimer: Please note that although I am an Adon user and you may agree with things mentioned in this post, my Adon is far from an advanced level right now. I make my analysis based off what I can see from the video and my own opinions which is pretty much from watching other Adon players videos and my own experience. So please do not mistake me as some Grand Master Jaguar. Understood? Cool. Now lets look at some matches…
Ranked 28: Vs Cody
First round was pretty gruesome but I think you managed well. The cody in here had 2 particular patterns that pretty much helped with your win such as:
[]Neutral jump FP on your wake up
[]Wake up dust (cant recall the name of this move)
Your answer to these was pretty good too:
[]Wake up ex rj
[]Neutral jump rh
Again though as an Adon player, I think Cody should be respected as zonk knuckle can knock you out of your kicks with maybe the only exception being rj. As for things of interest, there isn’t anything in particular I want to point out but maybe the exception of:
Ranked 29: Vs Dudley
As Adon fighting Dudley isnt that hard especially if the Dudley player loves to focus…
Dudley here not sure what to say about him. In the first round he spent so much time between blocking and trying to get out of the corner that he looked scared imo. At 0:46 I thought he would have wakeup ex machine gun upper’d the neutral jump but he didnt. Oh well…
In round 2 I give the Dud just a bit more credit though. He attempted to make space with the one ex bar he had which he could use ex machine gun punch to get back in and did not fight as scared as he did in round 1.
Things of interest:
-1:19 Jump forward rh is a hell of an anti-jt. Becareful giving this to dudley.
-1:40 Dudleys like to practice their dance moves on everyones knock downs for some odd reason and his 2 attacks from that position to watch out for is the overhead (which he did here requiring you to block high) and his sweep.
1:49-1:54 I think more Duds are doing follow up ultra to trap pokes. Good you didnt fall for this and good answer to his ultra too.
Ranked 30: Vs Gen
As I said in the match up thread, beware of Gen players. Most of them are ass bandits only looking to cross you up from behind…
On a more serious note Gen for me in particular has been a horrible match where I have to watch to see what the player is doing. Gen’s normals in particular are annoying as between different stances he has some multi-hit moves (like Adons st rh).
Things of interest:
-1:52 He loves this dp. jk looses to it often so careful doing it. Even worse somehow it suspends in the air for some unexplained reason. Avoid walking in thinking the move is finished.
-1:57 Just a question but what were you trying to input around here? Anyways this is one of those multi-hit moves i hate in particular with Gen. Very similar to Chun Li’s jumping FP.
2:01 That air move is very ambigous (Crane stance FP) and its whats used to get Gen started with some of his cross up combos. Be looking out for it.
Gonna get some more when I return, gotta drop off moms to work.
Ranked 31: Vs Oni
Wow. First off I want to say you had a very good first round. In terms of the space war, you took it from Oni. With that said, I now see that there maybe another side of Oni I never acknowledged. I in particular never acknowledged his rush down game since Oni’s in particular i try to fight at jk range or go in close and get back out. With that said watching that Oni draw out your health in that second round left me kinda astonished. One thing in particular about this Oni to me is he seemed more like a Ken player. He didnt consider zoning or using Oni’s keep back tools as much as he did using Oni’s offensive get in ones.
Things of interest
-0:41-0:42 Good bait as most shotos looking to dp jt.
-1:25 first fireball thrown (after a minute and 7 seconds). I think he should have used more fireballs from round one to punish your pokes. Then again the absense was probably to keep you from using jk which it didnt.
-1:45-1:48 Careful pressing buttons (you tell me this one too). Stopping his combo was intentional and put you in position to be punished again. You have to give him points here because he baited you to reveral and you did.
-2:37-2:39 Sometimes its best to let lightning strike twice. You had baited him earlier so as the saying goes “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me…” so of course he was not just going to fall into trap twice. Imo your better option would have been lk jt again and then step in or jk inwards because I was quite sure was waiting on that jt.
-2:46 Oooooooo that was nasty. Have to be care not to whiff jk on a Oni, Akuma or E. Ryu with super. You are gonna pay and gonna pay a lot.
-2:49-2:50 I also have to admit that was good what that Oni did to stuff your ex rj on your wake up. Quite sure that threw you for a loop after you saw that.
Ranked 32: Vs Gen
Damn Gen is a hell of an annoying character. This one however wasnt ass bandit as the others I faced, oh no. This one was ultimately deceptive. Lets go straight into it.
Things of interest
-Unlike the last match, this match was played more at a close distance. Gen got in a hell of a lot more throws in this match compared to the last.
-0:37 Again once you break against a Gen gotta watch their response. I really believe this will be their counter here more than 50% of the time since its a move that will stop JK.
-0:59-1:01 You dont want to let get Gen get away. If he does consider the whole situation reset and Gen will do something tricky again to get back in like that dual jumping kick.
-1:40-1:41 Good way to prevent the cross up and stopping him from hopping his ass away.
-1:55-1:57 Wow he could have finished you with the ultra! It almost looks like he was trying to be stylish here. Good reversal to get out though.
-The main difference between the two fights are the spacing. In 30, you were more on Gen to keep him in the corner and close to you. He didnt make too many attempts to regroup and comeback with an attack. In 32 however, he did these things using Gens normals to make the match frustrating. Gotta be on Gens balls fighting him man.
Ranked 33: Vs Gouken
Poor poor Gouken…lol.
On a serious note though, that guy had a good first round in my opinion. Up to 1:01 I think he made some good decisions that actually converted to damage. After this though he probably became flustered because he should not have sent that fireball in 1:02 which only opened up to be wrecked. Other that only thing I can say here is another Gouken destroyed by Tiger. He sure hates them Goukens lol.
I like the disclaimer at the beginning, makes me laugh everytime you post a disclaimer lol. Anyway lets see if I can explain some of this.
Vs Gen (R30) - No idea the floaty part after his upkicks first hit misses you can get you, so thanks for that. *1:57 I was in full panic mode coz I know Rhy likes that jump kick that’s hits twice so I was just waggling the d-pad in the hope I blocked both hits. Is it up/up or up/down or down/down to block it?
Vs Oni - Still have no idea on this matchup, he seems to be able to do a ton of damage with little effort. So I treat him like Gief and use lots of pokes to keep him away.
Vs Gen (R32) - Tbh I thought I played better in this match against Rhy than 30 but I lost this one and I have no idea why lol.
Vs Gouken - The first 1min he started frustrating me, And he did do really well I agree. I noticed middle 1st round he didn’t like being pressured so the 2nd I decided to take it to him since apart from his parry move there’s not much to worry about.
Add that Gouken to the list of “I must destroy all Goukens before I die” list lol.
In case you missed it last time people, take note:
Ranked 34: Vs Balrog
Every time I beat Balrog, I feel the need to correct him. As he falls he shouts “My fight moneeeeey!” and I replay “No, MY fight money”.
Really isnt too much to say here. You played a Balrog and you kicked his ass. Your first round though was very strange. You ended up fighting him like a grappler as you used your long range pokes to try keep him out. It was obvious you did not want to jump I guess do to fear of his headbutt especially after he gained ultra. The second round was better but still more riskier although you felt better about jumping then since the guy was holding down back on lock.
Ranked 35: Vs Zangief
Seems like the skies of Russia are impregnable…
As I said, I really believe that this match up has changed and is greatly in giefs favor due to the range increase of spd lp. Even I get mind fucked after being grabbed with the new range as it does appear Giefs can now grab us out of our pokes or should I say when we use certain pokes, it puts us into Giefs new grab range. Either way the buff for Gief is riduculous and I look forward to see what else Capcom can do. At this rate will be full screen spd as Gief uses telekinesis to pull you towards him.
Things of interest
-Of the two grapplers, I doubt you should rush down gief. You might have better results rushing down T-hawk, but your ass wont be rushing down gief like he is some scrub character.
-One of the reasons you wont rush down gief is because of his lariat in particular. Really I do consider his lariat his dp, and one to be respected once used right. He might as well say Shoryuken in russian. The only way you can hit zangief is by hitting his legs below (which essentially means he has to do lariat close to you while you are crouched) or hitting his head above (which means you gotta get airborne). 0:28 is a good example as he cuts your jaguar kick short.
-Okay for all those reading the review with the video playing in another window or tab pause the screen at the beginning of 0:33. Yeah, see that flying fuck in the air? Some one tell me with all that space how the fuck does he get to spd upon landing. No seriously Tiger hit cr FP to attack landing frames but spd upon landing? Seriously capcom?
-It was a good thing getting Gief to the corner but why oh why did you wait there with him? 1:15-1:24 You stood there waiting for something only to ex jt, rj which all got blocked. Tell me what you were thinking Tiger? In my opinion as much as you might hate it, had to let gief out of the corner. You needed him to move to give you something to work with.
-1:37-1:38 I cringed. I said at this point you were so mind fucked that Gief could drop down his pants and moon you and you would miss such opportunities.
-1:56-1:58 Not usually Tiger quality. Its me who usually dont get the timing for that combo right. I think frustration of this match (fear of spd) took its toll there.
-2:08-2:10 Always keep in mind which Ultra a zangief carries into the match. If its U1 they are looking to land it. If its U2 they will attempt to scare you into it like here. He knew you were going to jump away so he fired. Really you cant blame him.
Ranked 36: Vs Cody
Tiger wins… Flawless victory.
Wow. Exposed.
The Cody was pressing buttons a bit much though.
Things of interest
-0:31 Nice sweep to cut out the dust bullshit.
Ranked 37: Vs Zangief
Wow russian skies protected again? Damn. Fear not though as light did shine in that head of yours Tiger. You figured out one key to fighting Gief.
Things of interest
-Pause the video at 0:22. See the distance? Why capcom can gief grab my skinny ass from that far? Anyways…
-0:31 You have to becareful of this situation. It does seem like he expected a jk after that st rh but not going to call him psychic.
-0:34 Good rj to get him off you at the end of that combo. Always remember after green hand you are standing unless you were already airborne.
-0:35-0:36 grabbed outta sweep…
-I actually find shorts from Zangief annoying. Like he already has spd and other grabs which make this fight difficult but he also has those which can set you up for a grab. Gotta be looking out for those and blocking them.
-0:59-1:00 Yeah I know its bullshit.
-1:21 Here is when the mood changed. You slowed it down a bit and made him fight from the outside. This is what you want to be doing. Although jk is usually unsafe by using footsies you can make them safe. Well safer than they are in this match up. Also dont let cr fp and st rh become your footsies for this match up. You are really in giefs grab range when this happens. If anything try medium strength.
-1:57 I know. It was for the win. You wanted to go that extra round even if it meant chipping him out. Again you want to watch the ultra picks since Gief pulls you out of rh jk due to its height.
From my experience this match is about being patient and making jk safe for damage. lk jt might also proof useful for meter building while afar from Gief. Dont rush him or at least this player as they have an answer for that rush down tactic. Slow it down is the way you wanna go here.
Ok.
Vs Cody - I see alot of ppl do that dust and normally I would just jump it but I decided to see if sweep would trade, I honestly didn’t think it would beat it tho.
Vs Gief - I wasn’t really expecting much from this match since both were against AquaSilk, probably the best Gief in the world. The first match when he caught me with Siberian Blizzard I honestly had no idea that was the ultra he chose. The second match I actually didn’t think Siberian Blizzard would hit my jag kick but after the match I thought to myself that its anything airbourne and I was dumb to even attempt it lol.
There was 2 replays I forgot to upload yesterday with the rest so I’ve just put them up now and also Durant there was a RamenAddict replay when I went online earlier so I uploaded that for you too.
Being a Cody player myself, if the Cody gets too “dust happy” either focus it, or just block. Cody is very negative on a blocked dust and you should be able to punish hard.
You can also focus it? For some strange reason I have it my head that it would be a high priority move against Adon like most of Codys are so I never really thought about anything but jumping it normally but thankyou for the tip.
You probably have it as high priority because dust knocked you out of jk before. I know when certain moves stop a few of mine, I try not to use those moves as I would think I used it recklessly. Its why I have a hard time mentally focusing up close.
Against Ruskov, where was the rj anti air, he should eat ten of them and don’t use a normal expect if he has ultra II, jump forward fierce and roundhouse have too much priority.
He doesn’t know the match-up, I’ve seen a match against an another Adon and he doesn’t punish ex jaguar kick in guard, by the way, never use this move against Gief and Hawk, same for the lk jaguar kick.
Don’t move back so much, easier said than done especially with the insane range of the 360 light.
Against the Sagat, after the stun, do the more powerful combo, you are here to kill your opponent, espcially in ranking mode.
Hideous Sagat by the way, I’ve already played against him and the match was easy to win but detestable too.
I think you use too much the jt ex, to me this move stills only a waste of meter, the buff is really usefull against Sim, most of the time you don’t have the powerful Super, cheap damage for the win
Vids are up, Sadly there was no GamerBee replays to upload and all the RamenAddict replays were of him using Seth so I didn’t bother with them. Which means you’re stuck with just my scrubby Adon replays lol
