I just realised your a pad player on Xbox… so do you use the standard Xbox controller or fight pad made for Xbox? I started using an Xbox controller for SF4 on PC, but the d-pad and stick accuracy pee’ed me off so bad I threw my controller at my tile floor. Still works though lol.
These days I either play on my mate’s PS3 or use a PS2 controller connected to my PC.
I use a fightpad with a pic of Sagat on it if you know which I mean.Not sure of the name tbh lol

Yeah, that’s the one, I also have a femme fatale stick and a TE, Been trying to use them recently but it’s not going to well lol. But I want to learn stick before AE so I have about 6weeks or so
some people find it easier with an octogate than a square. I got a friend who uses the octo gate and he swears its better… personally I like the square

I have started uploading my replays from AE, So if you guys have some spare time and fancy checking them out feel free,my YT channel address is at the top, I was also going to upload alot of really good Japanese adon players to my channel also when i get around to it, just have to sort through the numerous replays i have thanks to the “follow” function and then i’ll upload the good adon matches.
I check your videos from AE and i see the same problems mention above, your Adon miss combo after the jump mk i never see his BnB, same after the neutral jump roundhouse, training is the only answer.
Too much jumps and jaguar tooth hk and no ia jk, i’m using fightpad too and it’s possible with it but forget the tk version, anyway no one use it.
If you want to see frame trap with Adon look the end of the second round of one of my fight , you can check the others fights too, maybe you could learn something :

Jumping is fine, especially for online play. Adon has arguably the best jump in the game (debatable between Gen, Blanka, and Adon), especially for cross-ups. Whenever you play against a character that has weak cross-up AA (Guile, Balrog, Honda, etc.), you should be abusing the hell out of the situation until they discover a way out (and then punish them for using it). Yes, jumping can be a liability against shoto users, but if you’re good enough to bait SRKs, then it’s going to be an advantage.

I agree that you shouldn’t back away from your opponent without a valid reason. I often back out after knocking down Ryu or Fei Long, simply because it sets you up for an unpunishable (unless they ultimate) lk JK. I’ll also back out just far enough to be within dash distance for a surprise throw, you’d be amazed at how often this works, especially against grapplers.

Safe block strings don’t really exist for adon, barring ones that make use of cl. standing HP. A blocked cr. LP doesn’t get you enough frame advantage to land a seond one without being vulnerable to a SRK. If you don’t know what a block string is, here’s the eaasy definition - any combo that prevents an opponent from being able to perform a retaliatory attack before you connect with a second attack. The easiest example is Akuma. Nearly all of his light attacks have massive frame advantage on block, which is why you can never RJ counter-hit his combo attack after he lands a blocked dive-kick.
Overall, I think your adon is fine. You just need to defend better against cross-ups, and you should make more use of EX-JK when your opponent is trapped in the corner. You can link EX-JK into ultra2 if your opponent tries to jump out of the corner and the JK only lands 1 hit.

Knew your name sounded familiar. Found some replays of you from Excellent Adventures. Think you were jumping and taunting a bit too much, and probably should have completed some of your basics combos, instead of jumping on their heads the whole round. To be honest, I’m not sure how you got to ~14k bp by jumping and not completing BnB combos. You do a lot of unsafe random stuff in those vids and it wasn’t hard for Gootecks and Mike Ross to catch on.

To be honest, I’m more inclined to agree with Seratna, but Tigermoggy doesn’t overjump I don’t think. Well not as much as Zeckasaur.

Rofl, I hope you look at the date those videos went up. Also, if you’ve ever played adon online then you would know he’s notoriously difficult to finish combos with, especially cr. lp > cr. lp > cr. mp > lk RJ. It’s slightly easier to pull off in AE, given the faster cr. MP, but it’s still tough to perform reliably in the presence of varying lag.

Meh I’m from Australia and I play mainly on GFWL, same nametag. I play a pretty average Adon myself on PS3 when I’m at my mate’s house. But what I don’t do is give people awful advice.
