A lot of users here aren’t really that accepting of Smash Brothers being called a fighting game. And coming here just to ask people to vote on GameFAQS… This is not gonna go well.

Edit - it’s not about accepting smash as a fighting game or whatever. It’s the fact that he came in the plead a cause that no one here cares about. Of all places, certainly not GD.
I’ve just blown a fuse trying to shoehorn Smash into the fighting game category in my head. The closest I can get is that some fighters, like Virtua Fighter and Soul Calibur, allow you to win by Ring Out, which is kind of like Smash. Kind of.

The Japanese coined the term when more of those types of games begun popping up after Smash’s success.
