Man it’s completely irrelevant how or why you think smash is a fighting game or not.
The reason why so many people (myself included) absolutely hate that fucking game is because of exactly this thread.

I had an SRK account…i just dont know where it went. It was from a long time ago, but seeing as ppl like angelpalm still have accounts that are 14 years old maybe there was a time when inactive accounts were deleted? I had been inactive for quite a while. I just created this new one because I couldnt get onto the old one(or even find it).
Nah ppl can enjoy whatever it is they enjoy. I didn’t realize that making one post counted as shoving it down anyone’s throat. I’m just one guy who believes that there is more camaraderie between fighting game players than maybe there really is…or at least more than ppl think in here. Why do you think they constantly patch shit or had stuff like tripping I’m Brawl? Or the countless fucking times sakurai has said “smash is not a fighting game or meant to be competitive”

I had thought more had changed since those years. I thought fewer people were against Melee being part of the group that we all consider fighting games. Maybe I’m still right in that thinking, though, and this topic just so happened to attract a few people who wanted to vent about the topic.
