Hey everyone!
The Get Salty crew is throwing their first ever tournament and they are welcoming Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3!
Here’s the info:
-The tournament will be at Tilt Studio in Voorhees Town Center.
Tilt Studio
1580 Voorhees Town Center
Voorhees, New Jersey 08043
-This will be an Xbox 360 only tournament.
-The tournament will be held on Nov 26, 2011 - The Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. Get some turkey, buy some stuff, then come out and fight. Let’s make this an awesome weekend.
- Double Elimination. No stress on losing once, right?
-Bring your own controllers, sticks, pads, etc…
-The venue fee is 10$ and pot fee is 5$.
-There will be free food!
-If you reserve a spot now:
The first 20 people that saved a spot shall get a free 5 dollar game
card to use on the arcade games in Tilt Studios. So you kinda got 5
bucks back from your entree fee. Just let us know your info
and we’ll save you your spot.
Our goal is to at least have 20 people show up but since this our first tournament, we are capping the participant limit to 30 people. We are still working things out with the venue owners but if we have a good turnout and it goes smooth, we should be able to throw any subsequent tournaments with a higher participant list and longer time limit to use the place.
-Tournament starts at 5 so the list closes on the dot! But please come early so we can play some casuals before the event!
-The venue itself does not have WiFi or any way for us to directly connect
the internet but we will still record the event as if we were streaming
and we will be uploading our offcast to a youtube account or stream site. Once we have that up and running, I’ll post the addy.
So if there anything else, please just leave a comment message me. Please be assured that this will a fun tournament. I am not totally green on running tournaments, I’ve run a few prior to this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF7Xu27prOg - South Jersey Java tournament in Voorhees, New Jersey
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSrmycACgjk - Me helping out and learning from Markman and SDTekken crew in their SF4 tournament.
But I haven’t been able to throw a tournament in a while because of a bad business relationship with the venue I had in South Jersey (South Jersey Java) that not only broke my equipment, but they refused to pay for it, even when I was running tournaments for free. It just left a bad taste in my mouth that made me not want to throw tournaments for a while.
Anyways, I’d really like to organize these tournaments again. I believe that South Jersey has great players and I would love to build a community here to highlight and showcase these players that otherwise would be unknown to each other. During the times that I did throw tournaments, I met some pretty awesome people that I probably wouldn’t have known that shared the same passion as I, so please, if you’re in the area, come out and get hype with us! Also, please let us know what we can do to run these tournaments better and thank you for taking the time to read all of this.
Let’s get salty!
