Hello, from Arcade-In-A-Box (10% Off Coupon SRK10)

oh ok… does the height count for a certain side? i noticed it has a bit of a slant in it. just curious really, all i mainly wanted was that top piece.

thanks for the info (i guess i just overlooked it on the site)

Thanks for posting your unboxing video! I’m amazed how bad you are at opening a box. I’m usually so excited when a box comes that I tear right through it.

I’ve got a few questions:

  1. How are the side buttons arranged? I see there is 1 button on one side and 2 buttons on the other. Which of these correspond to start, back, and “xbox”? I’m thinking the colors I chose might be weird now (white, black, green).

  2. Are the side buttons the same type as the main buttons? Eg, if I order Seimitsu clear buttons are the side buttons also Seimitsu clear?

  3. When you order Seimitsu clear buttons, does Ed install the art on the buttons? I think I’d actually prefer not to have art on the buttons. I think they will look best if they are just like in the pics I posted.

  4. Does anyone have pics of an AIAB stick with blue trim?

Looks great!

mine’s for the PS3. but the left button is start, the right rear one is the ps menu button, and the right front one is select. all my parts are sanwa.

At least for your question 2, the customization form allows you to select specific colors for each buttons including the side buttons. I saw a case where one of the side buttons was red and the rest of the side buttons were black.

As for question 3, it seems like he does based on the screenshots I have see with past sticks.

As for question 4, there is a GIF that swtiches pictures of custom sticks. One of them has the blue trim, it looks nice in my opinion, the trim that is.

Thanks GlockAzn and alpax.

Hmm, I ordered start to be white and back to be black, but AFAIK the Seimitsu PS-14-KN buttons don’t come in these colors. I think I want all the buttons the same color anyway. I emailed to ask if I could change the button colors on my order.

I dunno, maybe it would look good with the art in the clear buttons. How hard is it to take the art out of the Seimitsu PS-14-KN buttons if I don’t like it?

The GIF helps, thanks, though high resolution pics of all the trims would be sweet.

the only problem i have with the stick is that…

it’s so damn nice that i’m afraid to be rough with it lol.

closest possible replica of the SFIV cabinet stick

Hey guys…

I am wondering what Arcade in a Box stick configuration would emulate the official SFIV cabinet stick config.

Also, are there any other sticks that emulate the official cabinet the same or better?

Thanks!
d.

if you want to get the same as the arcade cabinet you might as well, go with the madcatz Tournament Edition stick. but I have to say, I think my AIAB is much nicer. just go with curved close sanwa parts and you’ll have the same kind of config.

Hi Ed,

Do you have the option of having a layout other than the ones provided on the site? Like do you allow the custom option to have a vewlix button layout, maybe for additional fees?

Anyone know what the button labels are for the hybrid Joystick more specifically when I’m playing it on the Ps3?

I ordered a Closed-curved so I’m wondering if its

Top row is: Square, Triangle, and R1

Bottom Row: X,O,R2

GlockAzn, only if you want to, would be good if you share your video of opening the package on the AIAB Community Video site

Hey guys, just wanted to give you an update of the impressions on my stick that I received around 2/19. The pics are here: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showpost.php?p=6153590&postcount=8210

Specs again are:
IL bat top stick
Seimitsu buttons
Slim arcade

IL bat top stick - I grew up with bat sticks in the arcades, so I figured it’d be the best fit for my custom stick. This IL stick is really good quality, but, I’m feeling now I should have gone with a Sanwa stick with bat top because the spring is too tight. This may change over time as I use the stick. Right now I feel it slows me down because of the resistance. I still like the bat top shape, but I could use a ball top as well.

Seimitsu buttons - these are pretty nice, they achieve the desired effect of showing off the artwork without distracting by being colored. They are definitely flatter feeling than Sanwas, and take a little bit deeper press to activate. They are also a little bit smaller than Sanwas, but I don’t mind.

Slim Arcade box - I think this is the perfect sized box for me. It has enough width to be comfortable so I can rest my hands on it in a few different ways, and when I’m waiting for a match I can rest my elbows near the corners and hold my head up in my hands :stuck_out_tongue: The weight is lighter than it looks but it still has is enough that it won’t move around unless you’re really wrestling with it. The black trim fits around perfectly and I don’t see any weird gaps or anything.

This stick has gotten a lot of my friends interested in making their own arcade sticks, and their enthusiasm has gotten me interested in trying that as well. If I made more money I’d definitely order from Ed again, but I’ll have to go the cheaper route and try to make another American/Japanese hybrid. This is money very well spent and I’m proud to own the stick

Thanks for sharing your (honest) impressions after a week of receiving your stick isurus.

Perhaps you can join the Community on the new AIAB site and post up your pictures of your awesome stick up, yours and GlockAzn’s make use of Bruce Lee so well. Also perhaps the web guy should open up the User Testimonials page up again so that happy customers can share about their stick.

EDIT: you have posted it up already. Sorry for not noticing

those Bruce Lee sticks are nice. congrats

The AIAB stick configuration can mimic the official SFIV viewlix arcade cabinet (not the TE) in terms of the actual arcade joystick and buttons (Sanwa), as well as the button layout, curved close.

But in terms of surface, that is a different issue. The viewlix is mostly plastic I think and AIAB is using melamine wood.

Possibly the MadCatz tournament edition stick comes close to the real arcade one, but still, I feel wood surfaces are more durable than plastic.

Can anyone shed some light on when AIAB charges you?

Is it upon ordering, or is it upon starting construction of your stick?

Edit: Nevermind. I saw the answer a few pages back.

mine just shipped today :), now the question is how long it takes to ship to Canada?

^^^^ when did you order yours? Did it ship on the 26th?

Just saw the updated order que…wowsers!!!

Congrats on the business.
