I had no idea the 1/2 Slimes that split. If you buff the initial slime in anyway, the split one carries the same effects. Shit surprised the hell out of me.
Finally got the dream in match play: Houndmaster on Maexxna. 4/10 Beast that murders anything. Clever UTH and topdeck explosive shots made the Mage pointless. I gambled that he didn’t have Flamestrike, turns out I was right.
Why wont redemption trigger on my own turn : ( Bleh. No wonder its a shitty card. Also peace keeper only works on enemy minions, not your own, so I cant peacekeeper my own egg! I dont think the deck will really work like I wanted
Rogue class challenge was just hillarious. I couldn’t stop laughing as Maexxna kept wasting her mana on sending my Echoing Oozes back so I can clone some more every single turn.
Really loving Naxx so far. Can’t wait to see what crazy decks come up.
I know Cryoh is scared already. The amount of silences in his Priest deck was baffling, some of those cards I have never seen in all my Hearthstone time up to this point.
I have no idea how the Meta will shift, only that Warlock (Zoo especially) and Priest should see a lot more play in this era than previously. While not exactly changing what Hunter does currently, I feel the new cards give them a bit more flexibility with beasts and synergy than what was previously available.
I loooove Maexxna in my Hunter deck now, as well as the 1/2 create two 1/1 Spiders. Honestly the Hunter only spider looks less appealing to me in comparison to some of the other cards offered up. If the Nerubian from the egg was a beast it’d be mandatory but Blizzard was wise from letting that happen.
Still don’t know why the 1/4 Battlecry nerfing one isn’t but eh, oh well.
the final boss in naxx heroic is hilariously dumb, i won with trap hunter with some heals, but i think winning with fatigue earthen ring farseers is what i want to do. Just let the spiders hit you for 7 every turn, gain 6 then armor up or heal with priest. Alexstraza would work too. dumb dumb ai.
I think nerubian egg has to be the most played card in constructed now. I’ve seen 5-6 different classes using it already. Zoo, Priest, Handlock, Token Druid, Midrange Shaman, Aggro Paladin, and the best was Control Warrior who played Azure Drake > egg > whirlwind in order to get a 4/4. The whirlwind let me trade with the drake… so silly all around.
I’m playing ramp druid with nerub’ar weblord in constructed right now. It helps prevent Zoo from getting huge plays t2-5 as they usually play upwards of 10-15 battlecry guys. Has a big enough butt to not die to flame imp in one attack/kill a few 1 health things, can stall some control/midrange plays like blademaster/drakes/shadow priest/fire elemental/gnomish inventor/black knight/blood knight/etc. etc… Druid’s “choose one” ability isn’t a battle cry so you can still play Ancients/Keeper/Cenarius to get spell like effects on minions without killing your own tempo. I play 4 of my own battlecry minions, but i’m usually playing them much later in the game, and since i’m able to control my spider i can just facilitate it dying on my own terms.
Haunted creeper might be better than harvest golem.
For heroic Maexxna I made a warrior deck with Battlecries that heal me, Charge minions, and that 9-drop dragon that sets hero life to 15. It took a while but it worked.
People keep calling it dumb AI; have you not seen wow raids before? Bosses have preset rules. See the flashing ground? Move out of the fire. See that add spawn? Kite it around.
Its not dumb AI, its programmed that way. She is forced to use her ability every turn to start it, no matter what. This is the only reason you CAN beat her, by exploiting this mechanic. They’re designed to have weaknesses you have to exploit in order to win. The challenge is can you defend from a bunch of 1/1’s (along with some buffed attacks from dire wolf and the like) and some other stronger creatures and stabilize by using charge/battlecry effects. Thats the boss encounter. It has nothing to do with AI. At least on Maexxna.
I noticed a bit of interesting shifts in the meta… I swapped in some nerubian eggs and that 5/5 rogue spider into my rogue deck, and I actually ran into a few 6/7 ogres. I guess with silence being so prevalent, using vanilla big creatures who arent effected by silence seems to have come into fashion
Not sure about that one in general, at least I prefer the good old golem - especially in arena with all the 3/2 picks.
ofc Creeper is great against some 1 or 2 drops with 1 health, in token decks, utility against divine shields, Knife Juggler etc.
I just love my Harvest Golem. Not sure if I’d pick the Creeper in arena…
