I’m seeing a shit load of people using ancient watchers/sunfury protectors against early game rush.
Really wanting to craft a couple for my priest decks to help me get and keep stuff on the board in the early game. Also a turn 1 shieldbearer could end up being a turn 2 4/4 with inner fire.
4 stats for 1 mana neutral, pretty good when you have something that can enable it such as Dire Wolf, Shattered Sun or Argus. I guess the wave turned into a tsunami after reynad released that youtube video on reddit.
Holy fucking shit, I just fought an warrior deck that has golden Ragnaros, golden Grommash, golden Ysera, golden Cairne, golden Tinkmaster golden Nat, golden Shield Slam, golden Gorehowl, etc. I died by card exhaustion so I was able to see most of his cards thanks to my stupid mage secret control deck. Everything is FUCKING GOLDEN except those 3 damage weapon axes. I was laughing every time he drops a card. I wonder how much he spent on all those golden legendaries, damn.
$600 or so to get every card, but god knows how much for all golden.
LOL, my opponent put down a Millhouse Manastorm early against my Mage with a Mana Wyrm in my hand. I’ll let you guys figure the rest out
Reynad brought up his budget priest deck
Seems pretty solid against rush with the bread and butter ancient watcher + sunfury/argus.
That guy has very expressive eyebrows haha.
I checked out his other videos; They’re pretty good and informative for any of you newer players that are looking for a little deck guidance and advice to accelerate your game.
I liked his druid deck. The only problem being that sometimes I’m on the fence with Ancient Watcher, I usually rotate him in and out–sometimes the card is dependable and great, sometimes it drives me crazy as a dead card.
CRAZY amount of legendaries, though.
edit: I watched one of his ladder matches and I was immediately annoyed that he bashed a guy for playing acidic swamp ooze. Anybody who played MtG understands that saving a spot for a utility card like Ooze is never a horrible idea. When you hit those higher ranked matches and run into a paladin, warrior, hunter --that card can save your ass. I always find it funny that people can’t just say “wow thats a great play”. Its always “That guy is an idiot for playing _____”. Well…that idiot just played that card…and it worked on you…sooooo
It’s a Raptor in 6 (5) match ups and they commonly get half the value out of their Weapon, other 2 drops like Amani Berserker, Sunfury Protector or Faerie Dragon still retain their text in all match ups.
I think its a fine play if you dont have an indy, though. Hunter, Pally, and Warrior are legit weapon threats. rogue is fringe. I think it makes sense to run as a 1-of. Not everybody can craft an indy
edit: in other news I’ve lost 4 in a row to my two worst classes : Hunter and Priest. Horrid matches for me
so I just popped open a gold Alextrazza. What should I DE it for? I’m thinking Cairne Bloodhoof, Tinkmaster Overspark, Tirion Fordring, or Lord Jaraxxus Nat Pagle
What decks are you maining? Cairne is solid overall and tinkmaster is amazing for druids. Tirion is just plain hilarious.
Druid. I like tinkmaster for Druid. I like Carirne for its versatility.
Either honestly, slightly leaning towards cairne to use in more decks if you don’t have ragnaros as a finisher for druid.
I have Rag. I ended up crafting Tinkmaster.
Drafted 2 UtH, 2 Starving Buzzards, 2 Timber Wolves, and a Scavenging Hyena for arena. 12-0 incoming.

Too bad I didn’t draw sunfury protector and I actually lost this because he brought me to lethal before I could run train with 3 molten giants.
Cryoh got like 3 legendaries from booster packs while I was playing. Ridiculous luck.
I was sitting on 10 arena packs, and decided to bust them all. Blizzard must be wishing me a early Happy Birthday!
