Hearthstone - That other, other, other Blizzard game

Well, that’s one of the things that are nice about card games. There are multiple aspects to enjoy. Some enjoy deckbuilding, exploring the possibilities of the cards, trying to bring out as powerful a deck as possible, expressing their own ideas about how they want to play the game. Others care less about building new and exciting decks, but more about playing strong decks and dealing with the metagame. Neither approach is wrong, though being good at and enjoying both aspects is probably an advantage.

It’s really the same thing about fighting games. Some people first and foremost enjoy their flashy combos. Some think the neutral game is the most interesting part. Some people enjoy exploring the game in the lab. Some people really love setplay. Some people even like all of these things. Neither approach is really wrong here either, but the more you do, the better you get.

And some people just want to have all the foil cards.

I’m a notorious labwork monster in fighting games, I love the exploration aspect of games, it’s actually my favorite part. Here is a sample document consisting of stuff I 90% came up with http://pastebin.com/xJWC1y5h

In Magic I played my own takes on decks almost exclusively. Hell my buddy’s brew won him and another friend both a bunch of money.

When you say people “should” do something you’re saying there is a “right” way to play. No there is not a correct way to do things, people should ladder however they feel works best for them.

There is no “soul” to lose. There is nothing wrong about using all available resources to try to better your chance of winning if that is your goal while playing.

And some people want all the non-foil.

You’ll always find that someone else has your idea but likely optimized it much better or at the least has something going for it.

There’s nothing wrong with taking ideas that align with yours, or someone elses ideas and then tweaking it yourself.

i’m rank 4 atm with a demon deck, kind of a zoo, since I hit early and if the games last long I can pull malganis, only card I feel I need is jaraxxus, and I always struggle vs warriors, no matter what you do, they win with the grim patron combo.
theres a lot of hunters, but those are winnable.

but yeah, getting from rank 4 to legend is simply insane, unless you are hunter, I guess.

honorable mention is for agro paladin decks, they hit hard, and hit fast, and their card drawing option are the best. probably the best class to rank up being “honorable”

Ur right, the way I worded my initial statement was judgemental and indicated negative feelings towards netdecking. The sell my soul thing was directed toward myself. Should I abandon the way I enjoy playing the game, to rank up faster and perhaps more efficiently?

There’s likely a deck that you’d enjoy playing out there that hit legend that can be unique, though you’d either have to dig really hard if you don’t have much cards or your options are just limited to the lower cost but efficient decks.

Creative deck building with limited cards won’t really work out. I mean shit a bunch of cards that I always wanted to run needs malygos, he’s starting to be borderline craft worthy with all these malygos decks popping out.

If you want to? If you like just making your own decks, go for it. If you like winning but maybe don’t have the ability to come up with your own decks that do well, netdeck.

I mean, how you play is entirely up to you. Do what you feel is fun…and that might include netdecking or “selling your soul.”

Personally, I’ve lately been playing a salt-inducing Priest deck. Either I salt my opponent to death, or I salt when I don’t draw the correct combo. So salt.

Just don’t let two zip o matics live when you have every means to kill them on the field and you’re good.

God what the hell was that warlock thinking trying to outrace me, he died on turn four. Also he had murlocs, which is what I was doing and I stole dem buffs lol.

Murlock an actual thing? I’ve seen it about four times, seems bad.

It USED to be a thing and when it was, it was the most cancerous shit imaginable.

BACK WHEN THIS ASSHOLE WAS IN THAT DECK

I miss old blood imp. Still run the new one from time to time. He can be pretty funny.

Not in the mood to play constructed but I want the high level chest.
What to do? n> ladder boost plz. B(

Write a script that randomly clicks on your cards, your hero power and the enemy hero portrait, then make a face hunter deck.

gg

± random emotes. I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!
… but nah, maybe I should try some Druid, just don’t know what to play. Only did dailies every 2-3 days and sit at r11.
Or just wait for tomorrow’s TGT and go full dragon mode. Dragons. <3

But a random hunter might be better than my usual play, cause I really suck at hunter.

I’m at rank 6, 2 stars. Don’t have time to play any more today, and I’m terrible at adapting to the meta. With tgt tomorrow, not sure I’ll get rank 5! I will be buying about 80 packs as soon as it drops

Yeah I don’t have time to play either cause I’m on vacation, I just try to finish my daily quests whenever I can. Got my 4k gold ready for tomorrow

Yeah that’s going to be a lot of fun. I’ve got 8k, plus I may use my amazon points to get another 20 packs.

Didn’t know there was a Heartstone thread…I miss a ton of cool threads in GD every time I come here. Anybody on the bandwagon that ladder has turned into a shitfest of boring uninspired decks that just aim to win for the sake of winning? It feels a little soulless, but people love to win and those decks are fairly cheap to run so I see the appeal. I actually gave in and played that “Cancerdin” deck for a while and climbed to rank 9 before I stopped. Probably the most boring day of HS I’d ever had, it’s boring as hell. I’m excited for all of the pseudo-buffs Demonlock is getting in TGT, theorycrafting a couple decks with Void Crusher and Fearsome Doomguard, Dreadsteed doesn’t fit into Demonlock but I’m trying to make a deck dedicated entirely to it. I think Voidcaller’s general deathrattle value is gonna increase with the buff to late game demons the deck got. Void Crusher could turn out to be complete ass, but Fearsome Doomguard looks pretty damn strong to me. I was hoping for another Demon lord that cost between 5-6 but I doubt it will ever happen until the other tribal types get their appropriate buffs, Pirates got some nice cards in this set but it seems to have been forced into Rogue a little too much, I hate that about the tribal system in HS and how it forces a single class.

Oh, and having a gold Jaraxxus and gold Mal’Ganis is dope as fuck. Burning Legion for life motherfucker.

Uuuugh I got a hunter dominance quest and decided to follow my own advice, minus writing the script. I feel dirty now.

I mean, I get why people play facehunter over midrange hunter, and I can even get why some people think it’s fun, but goddamn, it feels so fucking dumb,

Oh well, now I have 600 gold for tomorrow.
