Arena is a great way to earn new cards if your basic collection isn’t great and you’re reasonably good at drafting. If you can chain back-to-back arena runs semi-reliably it’s probably the best way to get gold and dust.
to expand on that, you’d be making new decks and shit being like oh this works this doesn’t. From which you can kinda tell what cards you want to craft then arena bla bla bla all over again.
also arena really taught me board control not face is the place. im not saying you can’t learn that normally but it really does stress it.
Enjoy your collection and earn almost nothing, or play random cards to actually buff your collection. The design has always been fucked up. Pick your poison.

My eternal Nemesis the priest just fought me in a twenty minute hearthstone game. Got down to like three cards each, me using control warrior.
Glad I’m not super rusty, baited his removal, mind controls, grinded through thoughtsteals cause Priests need my cards to win, and came down executing a stolen Grommash and Alex while having the Grommash combo in my own hand.
He hovered a card over me until time ran out like I’m going to quit when he had no cards left and he finally conceded.
That shit don’t work on me son!

I hit rank 10, so I’ll be set for the rank 6-10 award. Never been higher than 9, so I’m not sure it’s a realistic goal to get 5 (moving next week, then I need to set up a nursery).
If you play a deck that’s actually good, getting to rank 5 shouldn’t be that hard. Getting from there to legend is a chore though, because you don’t get the winstreak-award and the opposition will be competent.
What deck(s) do you play, by the way?
You can practically run whatever decent variant of aggro hunter to Legend

I play control warrior. I was just going for gold warrior, not caring about rank too much, but now if I get rewards… I may have to play some different decks!
As far as I know, the Rank reward is Highest Rank Reached so don’t worry too much if you get stuck and fall.
The rewards don’t seem to be that great, though I think I’ll try to get to 5 if I have time. I normally end most seasons around 13-7 though.
Neh. If you’ve got a good control warrior list and know how to play it, there’s not much reason to switch to another deck. At the moment it’s one of the most stable archetypes around(especially since druids aren’t very popular at the moment), and I imagine it’ll stay competitive after TGT hits as well.
Problem with control decks in ranked isn’t that they will do well, they usually can barring bad early draws. Its the time invested into a match versus going for a face deck.
Even though you will win probably, it takes a far longer period of time to grind upward with it. I played three ranked games with my warrior today and it clocked in at like 50 minutes or so.
That’s the main issue really, you can comfortably do face up to five then switch to control as the upper echelon usually have good decks. I doubt blizzard will ever incentivize using control in ranked so you might as well do it quicker.
My incentive is gold warrior. Just got 250 wins today. At this rate, I’ll get gold soon©, Blizzard style.
I have plenty of other decks to play if I really want to push faster.
Here is the thing though, aren’t we ultimately playing hearthstone for fun? So shouldn’t we play our favorite deck in ranked, rather than netdecking and picking the fastest deck? I can’t sell my soul.
