Well in all fairness there’s nothing stopping them from going back and buffing them anyway.
Don’t feel entitled, I’m not using those starter cards, and I won’t use these either. However it is just poor design philosophy. The fact that they are commons, means getting these terrible cards will be a free 5 dust rather than something exciting (like most of the other cards even commons).
Progression and understanding would be going from boulderfist ogre to Sylvanas, or Bootybay to Sludge Belcher. However even with those, they aren’t straight up better versions, there is still reason for those old cards to exist. If BBB and Magma rager are left the way they are currently, then they have zero reason to exist. Not just cause they aren’t the best card in their mana slot, cause there are cards that are the exact same but superior. I don’t see how this move can be defended, particularly in a digital card game where they can easily change cards.
I mean wouldn’t you rather have had 2 interesting commons, than these really lazy power creep cards?
I’d rather have about 50 cards that didn’t suck than most of the cards in this set. These power creeps are the LEAST of my concerns.
That’s a completely different issue. At least those 50 or so cards, are creative efforts that may not work out (still too early to say). Not every card is going to be a masterpiece, but at least those others show some effort and ambition.
I don’t give a shit about effort and ambition if in the end the card is absolute jank.
how much attack would magma rager need to be played is an interesting question. 10ish?
Well warrior has a card that gives a minion +2 attack and charge. 6 mana combo, 12 damage? Not bad.
If it was 2 mana or 6/1 maybe?
If he just had charge you would see Magma Rager a ton, just used as a five damage Suicide missile. But that is inherently problematic if a universal card everyone has access to can do so much burst.
I bet in the future we will see a Elemental tag pop up and class cards making it more effective to run, as it stands currently it is useless but fun.
It happened to Harvest Golem so it isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
yeah he’d be a strictly better wolfrider to a large degree. Face hunter would be happy.
thing is with harvest golem, it was already really good and one of the most played cards. Its usage has actually gone down since gvg
That looks great, either make something nasty your opponents has a bit less nasty or make a silenced minion/mirror image token a whole lot more nasty.
Yup! I play tempo mage fairly often and I really love that card. I do.
1 less mana but 1 more health to get rid off, but the possibilities. The mentioned Mirror Images etc.pp
My favorite card of the expansion so far.

TGT patch datamined, yay.
• New dailies, 50g for “win 3 games with class X” and 60g for brawl dominance
• 4 new brawl backgrounds, so hopefully 4 new brawls. At least there are new brawl specific cards.
• Shiny, shiny golden cards!
Wonder if there will be any nerfs like it was prior to BRM, Mad Scientist as the main offender.
I hope there are nerfs. Just for the dust!
I have three Muklas now. Come on, someone make an OP mill deck!
Thank god they’re upping the Daily Rewards.
mad scientist is really good, but it’s not even in the best deck. Thaurrisan is the best card in Hearthstone.
Uh, no it isn’t. If we’re penalizing Mad Scientist for not being in certain decks than the Emperor maintains the same penalty as it’s only used in Control decks. And there is no “best” deck. There hasn’t been an outright best deck since Taker was beaten by Brock at Mania…I mean, nerfed.
